black NON-SPLINED lug nuts?

Anyone know of a company that makes a reasonably-priced "regular" (not splined) lugnut with a black (flat or gloss) finish that is reasonably priced?

I know Rays and some other "tuner" companies have them, but I'm not willing to spend $100+ on freakin lugnuts.

Anyone with some knowledge out there?

Have you looked at Nismo lugs on mynismo.com. $1.83 a piece, not cheap but not a hundred.

They are the same size as the ones that came with my Nismo/Rays rims so I wouldn't think depth would be an issue on G35 wheels.

well, the G stock lugnuts are the short acorn-style, but I switched to a taller nut because they're easier to get on and off every weekend at autocrosses.

If you get a chance sometime, any way you could measure the height of the ones on your nismo rims? I'd owe you one!

i was int he same boat as you last week, after soem searching i found these.

but i havent recieved them yet, ill give ya more feedback when i get em. honestly i dont think the "lightwieght" aspect is gonna make a difference, and thats not why i got them, my current lugs are just really ricey, i figured this was a step up

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2508633&rd=1,1

it was either these or the gorilla's, ill find out in a few days if i made a bad choice.

Those are the same height as the Nismo plugs, I did see they offer them in 1.5" as well.

I'm a bit hesitant tot get aluminum lugnuts though, since I use an impact gun to take wheels off at the track, and do alot of wheel swapping. Steel is preferable for my uses. Looks like a good deal though!

yeah im afraid of impacting my lugs anymore, had a tire change place overtightena dn several studs snapped while i was driving, since thne i wont let an impact near them. and i dont change wheels that often.

I just use the impact to take them off. I carry a torque wrench and torque them to spec when I put them on. Also carry a few spare studs in the ol' toolbag in the trunk....which have come in handy for other peoples' maximas at autocross events.

1. Buy steel lugnuts of a proper length
2. Then get one of those DIY powdercoating kits
3. Put them on your car
4. ???
5. Profit

STFU you!

Seriously though, I've used a nubmer of different high-strength epoxy and enamel paints on the regular lugs, but they always chip easily thanks to the chrome coating. Something that is actually cast/forged in a black color is preferable.

It's not a big deal....just addressing the "little things" while it's winter!

It's alot of work but you could sand blast the chrome off and then paint them. Otherwise you might just be SOL.
