Tires for 17x8 w/ 33mm offset

May be getting some Z wheels, rears, 17x8 w/ 33mm offset. Question is anyone running 235/50s? Will they rub? According to the tire cal. 235/50 is 1.5% larger than stock vs. 235/45 is 2% smaller, will either combo rub? And what's a better choice? I'm not lowered, and don't plan on it either. And how about original 225/50 tires, will they be too narrow for a 8" wheel?

I run 245/45/17 on 17x8 rims with 30 offset at the track...no rubbing, and I am lowered.

you may have to slightly shave the inside lip in the rear wheel well, on the back side of it, where the bumper joins to the wheel arch. If you stick your hand in there you will feel that there is a big lip in that part where they join. Dremel it down a bit if it rubs. It almost never rubbed for me, but I shaved it down a little bit just to be sure.

Would 225/50 work w/ an 8" rim? According to tirerack, the widest for 225/50 is 8", but how would it look? Will the tire look narrower than the wheel?

I hate that 'stretched' look.

8", minimally should be wrapped in @ least 235 attire.
