Tire width/ratio

posted this in the 1/4 mile thread, but maybe you guys no more about it.

i have 2 8" wide 300zx wheels, has anybody put some DR's on this type of wheel? just wondering what the widest tire i can use is and what sidewall ratio would be too much(aka cause rubbing). im gonna be on boss chen coilovers if that matters at all. this is gonna be a strip only tire so a lot of turnability doesnt matter, just enough to no blow them up on the return road.

If you're talking about Z32 wheels then they're either 7.5" or 8.5". You probably shouldn't go over 245/50 or 245/45 on these if they're 8.5" for minimal rubbing, but it can be done.
