need sum clearifications on the tire size calculators

got used 2k3 rims and now need tires.
been messing around with couple tire calculators just have a couple questions.

*currently have 205/65/15
revs per mile: 816
actual speed 60 mph
speedometer diff: -
diameter diff: -

*for 235/45R17
revs per mile: 821.4
actual speed: 60.3 mph
speedometer diff: 0.661% too fast
diameter diff: 0.67%

* for 245/45R17
revs per mile: 809.9
actual speed: 59.5 mph
speedometer diff: 0.753% too slow
diameter diff: 0.74%

stupid question but, the lower the revs per mile, the better and more effecient correct?
do you always wanna be positively close within the actual speed of the stock spec?

235/45/17's are the widest tire I would put on your 17x7's and they will be plenty close for you.

Don't think you will rub at all, but I would not drop anymore than 2" anyway because of bumpsteer...

Don't get a 235/45 on a 7J rim. The sidewalls will be stretched out--handling will suffer compared to a 225/50.

what is 7J? never heard that term.

u do have a good point though...
225/50 is what they come stock on the 2k-2k3's.

i mean, do 5th geners usually just stick with these tire specs or are there any others that will give more optimul performance over the stock?
