I am shopping for a set of ASA AR1 18" for my 5th gen.


Tirerack recommends the following:


18x8 Offset: 40mm
235/40 Tires


Is this what the ORG recommends as well?

How can I change the wheel offset in tirerack? I mean, assuming the manufacturer does have it available, how do I change the wheel offset TireRack is recommending?

5mm wont make much of a difference, so you should be fine with the +40. But, do call, ask, and verify if another offset(32-35) is available.

In order for these cars to have both front and rear wheels flush, without having a staggered set-up, you NEED rear spacers.

try to get as good of fitment as you can before spacers. no point in adding spacers (to the front) if you don't hve to.

tire rack always tries to keep everything as close to OEM specs as possible. i rarely see them offer us wheels in under 40mm offset. you can use 245 and 255 on the 8" but the reason they tell you to get 235 is because it maintains the overall diameter as close to stock as possible, therefore the odometer is more accurate and performance isnt hurt.

btw, the said wheels are butt-ugly and look like pepboys special.

ASA AR1 are good wheels, they're not heavy and they are made using production technology and methods purchased from BBS. For the money they are quality wheels.

But tirerack does sell the wheels for the maxima in 35offset.. if anyone noticed my earlier statement they sell them in 40 an 35

They were the best value/weight to match the looking i am going for. I have a white car tinted, with blacked headlights/rearlights/sidemarkers and I absolutely want BLACK rims with POLISHED lips.


So i am not sure if you dont like this particular black rims/polished lips wheel or if you dont like any black w/ polished lips wheel.


Anyhow, if anyone knows of other Black Wheel with polished lips under $200, please suggest!


Regarding the offset, I am calling them today and requesting availability on the 35mm offset.
