I want to get a good quality all season tires for my stock SE rims. I want the tire to have good traction and be relatively quiet. What is a good tire to get without spending a ton of money? Oh yea, I want it too look good too.

BF Goodrich g-Force Sport
215/55ZR-16 93W RBL $107.00each from discount tire store or americas tire store

I already have 20k on them and have about half tread left, good traction in wet weather also. Much better than the blowtenza's.

Thanks for the quick reply but tirerack.com says "Like all summer tires, the g-Force Sport is not intended to be driven in near freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice". I'm in Illinois that may be a problem the next few months?

BF Goodrich g-Force Sport appears to be a very good tire at a reasonable price if cold and snow are not an issue.

My friend lives up north where it snows and he just has another set of wheels he puts on during snow season. He uses all terrain tires like you see on a toyota 4x4 but a little smaller. THen he switches back to the other set when the sun comes out.

Thanks for the advice but that sounds like a hassle and added expense. Rather stick to one set.

Goodyear Triple treads FTW. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nSpeedRating=H

Put a set on my ex's 97 Camry. Good grip an all weather and an 80k mile tread life warranty.

On the slightly cheaper side of things, I like the Potenza G009's
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nSpeedRating=H

If you're looking for real cheap, the Fuzion HRi's aren't too bad. Sidewalls are a bit soft for my liking.

Thanks, but the write up at tirerack.com on the Goodyear Triple treads says "premium Passenger All-Season tire designed to take on Mother Nature to give the drivers of family coupes, sedans and minivans peace of mind for any driving condition". I'm hesitant to install a tire that is also recommended for a minivan.

Yeah it's got the Rubicon Express 5.5" Long arm kit, with a 3" body lift, sittin on 38" TSL's.

It's call stock height bud.

Lowering may come later down the road, when I have money for it, and when I decide it's time to replace the struts.

Suit yourself, but keep in mind that there's minivans out there rolling around w/ v/w/y/z etc rated low pro's, so don't let that be your disqualification.

yokohama V4s here, sounds like it might fit the bill for you. Good price, excellent dry, very good in rain, and pretty good in snow. Look good, good value

Well I had the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires on my old Accord and loved them. Handled great and had good rain/snow traction. Great value as well. I have the Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread on my maxima and love them as well. They are a little pricier. I probably would have put the indy 500's on it but the place where I went did not have them and they were doing brake work there so I just had them do the tires. I would recommend either one.

I have 2 on the front right now, about 3,000-4,000 miles so far, they handle well and still look new.

No... this tire sucks from my experiance. I went though a brand new front set in a matter of a year and like 15k miles. I really want to blame my driving and allignment, but it isnt that bad and any all-season tire should be able to last at least 25k+++.
Before this I had Yokohama AVID V4S. Good tires IMO: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nSpeedRating=H
Tho I gotte say... when I bought them they were on special for like 80 a tire.

I can recommend Continental's ContiExtremeContact, been using them for two years. Great all-season grip.

I would recomend Yokohama Avid V4s. I am on my second set. Very good tire. I have never had them in snow but, I understand they perform very well.

If your running 215/55/16's you may also consider the new Yokohama S.drive.

its hard to go with peoples opinions on tires. Of all the tires i looked at online, ALL the reviews were mixed comments saying they are good and saying they are bad. Even in this thread, some are saying the tire i have is good, another person says they suck. I havent tried them yet but will put them on once the snow comes.

I have stock-sized Michelin Pilot Exalto's on my 4th Gen. This is the fourth set of tires I have had on the car since it was new in '98, and these are the best by far. Car came stock with Goodyear RSA's - dangerous in any kind of foul weather. Next came a set of Bridgestone RE-950's - they handled great, but were noisy. Also had a tread separation problem with at least one of the tires. Replaced the Bridgestones with a set of Kumho's...I drove them a few weeks and returned them to the store where I bought them...the handling was sub-par to the previoius tires that I had. Got the Pilot Exalto's about two years ago and I have been extremely pleased with them...they ride and handle well, they are extremely quiet and they are wearing extremely well.

Put a set of Michelin Pilot A/S Sport on our I-30t...these tires ride a little harder than the Exalto's, but the aggressive tread pattern provides amazing performance in the rain.

internet regugitation. on tirerack tho, for the under $100 tires, kumho was slammed by like 20 customer reviews. the biggest complaint was durability - they last around 10-15k.

plus udienow is saying the same thing.

well i bought them from discounttiredirect and the reviews were 90% good. Maybe you were looking at different, non-all season Kumhos, but i was on tirerack just now as well and saw 3 reviews out of the first 20 where they said the tires wore out fast..... This was for the Ecsta ASX

Bridgestone

I tell ya what, I've had firestones, toyo proxes (2's and 4's), I've had the potenza RE950's, and the BFG kdw2NT, and I've now got on my car the new Potenza G009's. Best tires yet, either the BFG's or the G009, I agree there was a little more harsh road noise from the RE950's but you can't get them anymore, thats what I replaced with the G009 potenza's. I love em, but IMO I think for the $ the G009 are a great tire for snow and everything, believe me I live in the mid-west next to the mississippi, snow here sucks. However if your not worried about snow looking for some sweet looking tires that are sticky as crap, the BFG's kdw were my fav's.

I have Michelin Pilot Exalto on mine too. Bought it from Costco for ~$580 (taxes/installation) ~2 months ago. Very please with it. Quiet and handle pretty well.

Previously I had a set of BFGoodrich Traction T/A H and it was pretty good too. The only down side I could think of is the road noise is louder (than the Michelin). No big deal as I just turn up the stereo volume...

The Potenza G009s are certainly in the performance all season tire category. They definitely are worth considering. l appreciate the feedback from everyone.

I like Michelin Exalto. Quieter and softer ride than Potenza RE-950. Cornering is better than the old Potenza, too. I also notice a small increase in mileage. Note: Cornering is better because I can take the same turn at a higher speed. However, the Michelin has a strange sensation during cornering as if the tire folds over. The Potenza is very surefoot and solid. I guess the wall of the Michelin is not as stiff.

yea i did... and properly inflated also... if u read some of the comments on like tirerack.com a lot of people agree that they wear WAY TOO FAST..

they are real noisy also... im pissed cuz i thought they would be better but i dunno... the first week i had them 1 tire exploded.. i took it in got a new replacement.. then i noticed my car drifting to the left a lot.. took it back in they put on another one.. it was ok...

then i got a nail in one of the rear tires.. took it in and guess what..

they put a new tire one.. and rotated it to the front. and it pulled right...

continental is a piece of s h i t.. never again am i gonna buy them...

i just bought a set of the Kumho Ecsta ASX and put ~2,000 miles on them. The tire size is 225/55/16 and so far I'm pleased with the buy. They corner and feel better than my previos tires, but I can't really compare them to my last set b/c they were 215/55/16's.

Another vote for Yokohama V4. Used for about 20k miles and still have plenty of meat left. Good dry& wet traction, acceptable in snow and they held up pretty well on several auto-x days.
