Got my new wheels

Whats up guys. I just wanted to share some pics of my new wheels. They have arrived since December 21 but i just put the pics up.

I just can't wait till these go on my car. These are 1 piece forged Buddy Club rims. They are 17x8 +35 offset and each rim weighs 13.53lbs!!! I just need to decide on tires, probably some BF KDW2's. These will be on the car within the next few months as a lot of maintenance issues are hitting me at the same time.

And now the pics: ENJOY!!!

thanks guys. yea i think they will look sick too. They cost a lot but for the performance aspect i think they were worth it. It was $1950 shipped. I was comparing these to volks and gram lights and for this size and offset there was nothing lighter.

I guess you pay to play for those extra 2 pounds, Enkei RPF1s are 15 pounds for the same size for less than half the cost

Well from the Enkei's i looked at i never found any that were in a color i liked. I knew i wanted some lightweight wheels and i was gonna settle on some Rota SDX wheels in time attack finish. They were about 17lbs each and they were around $800. Original Volk Time Attacks are near impossible to find these days and runs around 3 grand, and still they aren't as light as these.

I was having a discussion with a friend about my choices and explaining the differences of each wheel to him. He told me that if i can't see the value in forged wheels then i shouldn't be getting them in the first place. So after some more research i saw what he was talking about and decided to get them.

Of course after i bought these, i saw in a magazine that Ray's Gram LIghts decided to offer the 57Optimise i believe it is in a time attack finish. However i am very happy with these.

What do you guys think i should get as far as tires go? I live in Florida so really no need for A/S tires. I just want to get a very good performance tire. Any ideas?

Yea 18s were available but i thought they were too wide. Is anyone running a 9'' wheel up front in a 4th gen?

Here is a link of all the available sizes, the offsets, weight and price per rim:

Was that sarcasm? Can't tell

To each their own, but for me personally an extra 2 pounds of rotational mass is no big deal, if I don't like the color, I could paint them or powder coat them

They do look better than whats currently on the car. Just a lil too generic looking for my tastes. I guess if you prefer performance over style it was a good way to go.

i was definitely looking more at function than form for these set of wheels. I think they look good overall. But i must say, they look so much better in person. Everyone that has seen them in person so far has said the same thing. When they saw pics when i was doing research they said they look ok. But overall everyone thinks they are a hot set of wheels.

I noticed that the 225/45/17 size in the BF KDW2s weigh in around 24lbs. That means my combo should be about 37.5lbs each wheel. In my current setup i believe its well into the high 50s low 60s. I gotta get a scale and weigh them for comparison when i switch them out.

And even with this current setup the car can run mid 15s. So i can't wait to see what the improvement will be with these wheels.

its called sbc. it just another color like all painted wheels. adds no weight, looks great.

to the op, its cool if you just like the p1's. the weight and all is nice but being that you "run mid-15s" and by looking at your previous set-up i'm guessing performance isn't at the top of your list. personally, i think scouring the earth for the lightest wheel is a waist of time unless you are HEAVILY involved in drag/autocrosss. i just hope you weren't hyped up by all the wheel weight junkies on here into buying something you won't really be happy with. i mean, you went from 20" of generic bling to 14 lbs of jdm lightness/tyteness. one extreme to the other you know?

I think my last post was misunderstood. I always wanted my car to be both show and go. I started with the show mods first and then moved on to performance. What i was trying to say was that if my car can run mid 15s with heavy 20s, imagine how much better it will perform with these wheels.

These are my performance mods:
- Cattman Headers
- Greddy SP2 Catback
- Injen CAI
- 5 Speed Conversion
- Fidanza Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel
- SPEC Stage 2 Clutch
- Otto Racing FSTB
- Progress RSB
- Tein Basic Coilovers
- Brembo X/S Rotors
- PBR Ceramic Pads
- B&M STS
- Nitto 555 235/35/20 (For Now)

00vi and EU are coming within the next 2 months. Also all Energy Suspension Polyurethane bushings and motor mounts. Truax SFCs should be coming along as well.

There is a track day at Sebring Raceway on April 20th. My goal is to have the car ready for that day to perform at its utmost best.

Do you still think performance is not near the top of my list?

its not a bad thing. i have a lot more than that going into my build but i'm not a go guy. honestly i'm only doing a lot of the performance stuff to keep up with the rest of my build. if you say that performance is #1 to you than it is, nobody can say what you're building your car for but you. gl with getting your car done in time. i'm facing a similar deadline for a meet on may 24th. so far it looks like this:

man you look like ur building that car strictly for track. I guess in my case i got caught up in all the show mods first. When i saw how my performance was greatly reduced thats when i decided i needed to get moving on mods to improve it.

I never knew about this site when i started modding my car. If i did maybe i would have done things differently or when with different things, but overall i did what made me happy.

good luck with your deadline. what are some of the things going into your build?

it is definately a show build, just a very complete one. heres my rendering as of now (changes all the time):

engine: built 3.0, level 2 extrude honed mevi/heads, jwt cams, greddy eu

suspension: jic coilovers with vrh kit (air adjustability, coilover performance)

body: cefiro front end conversion, jdm sideskirts, shaving, refinish in super black (ftw!)

custom interior and a/v
