..Need 17 inch suggestions..
..Need 17 inch suggestions..
last weekend i paid $350 for a set of G35c wheels with minor nicks and 245-45-18 tires with about 60% tread left. they look great, but the simple fact is that i will have to be running 235-40-18s in order to get the speedo accurate, and that tire is just too thin. the roads here are ****. i should have never bought them..........
dont get me wrong, the G35s look great, but they are too big for my car. i feel like im on the edge of becoming ghettofabulous with wheels like that. all ill need then is tints with bubbles and glue-on chrome.
so ive decided immona resell these on craigslist locally. now im back in the market, but know that i want 17 inch rims instead of 18. I want to try to keep it nissan stock, but ill flex if i find the right one. i spent all day yesterday on tirerack and discounttiredirect looking at the 17 inch possibilities. i dont like the ones i can afford, and the ones i do like are $250 a piece or more.
i had the opportunity to buy a set of 04 350z wheels a while back, but didnt like the way they looked.
here is my car. if you guys have any suggestions about a style of rim u think would go with, please tell.
if you know of any nissan 17inch alloys that i am not aware of, throw up a pic. all help appreciated. and sorry for making another thread about wheels!!

im not crazy about either of these. i dont like the lip style, and id rather have more than 5 spokes, but they are both around $150 a piece.

i like these better than the ones above...
are kazeras good? they seem cheap...any quality issues?

i'm not going to stop suggesting these until somebody buys them (i've come close several times, but can't help but think 17" is too small for me). they come to <$900 (50+% off clearance) shipped with tires. this is a QUALITY, true 3 piece, semi-forged wheel. i know you like the dark wheels, so its right up your alley. 17x8.5 +35mm would be my suggestion for someone trying to keep it simple.
well im not looking to dump $1500+ into the setup. i was aiming for under 1k, like 8 or 900...
plus the motegis and other ultra light rims i find on tirerack and discounttiredirect dont really catch my eye
yea the 04 SL OEM maxima wheels were my second choice
i accosted this woman at work today about selling me hers
she said "ill think about it" which means "**** no"
anyone know how much the 04 SL oem maxima alloys weigh?

I don't like SP1s, but... that's tempting.
I'm currently pricing out 17x9 5zigen FN01R-Cs ($200 a pop, 17.5lbs) and Enkei RP-F1s ($270, 16lbs). Edge Racing wants ~$1300 shipped for the 5zigens and $1500 for the Enkeis including 255/40 T1Rs.
seems like a great deal. though i dont like the black. do they come in gunmetal?
so 900 comes with tires?
what kind of tires. what size?
also i put the G35s coupes ontoday and they stuck out WAY too far for my liking. they had 30mm offset. will these sit more flush?

its a clearance, so black is your only choice. these will be perfectly flush in the front, and just a TAD sunk in in the rear. heres a member with them on an i30 with a less aggresive size/offset.
If they are really lightweight (which 3 piece wheels generally aren't so much) and are still on clearance, I might consider 'em.
To the OP:

Perfect sizing, lightweight. Only the 17x9 +35 are on clearance.

ROCKART you can always have the black or any color rim painted
Mine are color matched...

I believe those stock SL wheels are ~25lbs
I had GLE wheels and those look close to the same style. I miss mine now.

I must admit they've grown on me since I first saw 'em, but one of the main reasons I'd swap out wheels is for weight, and at 21lbs the Professors are the same as my current wheels.
is Kosei a quality name? i dont want flimsy rims that are gonna bend/crack if i hit a pothole too hard....
and is the 17x9 +35 offset rim gona sit flush with my stock setup?
9 inches seems pretty wide considering what i thought about the G wheels
when i put those G35 wheels on today, 18x8 with 30 offset (or maybe 33, i forget) they stuck out WAY TOO FAR for my liking - almost a full inch from the sides....
granted they were running on 245-45-18 tires...
i think the stock offset on 15 inch 4th gen wheels is 40, but i could be wrong
either way they didnt sit well at all....plus the centercaps woudlnt even get close to fitting
on the front there was just a bolt sticking out, and on the back there was this brass cap....
what would be the best offset for me?
here are a few pics i snapped before i took em off.

This is 16x8.5 +35 and I notice that it is a little under-flush in person. I'm not one of those offset freaks but I like 'em perfectly flush with the fender.
Also, Kosei is a pretty well-known name in budget racing wheels. They are brittle when you powder coat 'em (because of the powder coating process) but otherwise they're fine. Also, if you're really that worried about it you could always get another rim to the tune of another $130.
Yeah, unfortunately you'll need to use a 350Z base. Select the 17x9 rear wheel option, then edit your cart and set the quantity of 17x8s to 0 and 17x9s to 4. TR makes things difficult...
On top of that, if you're planning on getting tires, don't go with the ones they "recommend" with the wheels. The outer diameter is for a 350Z and you'll either want 235/45s, 245/40s, 245/45s or 255/40s, the latter being what I'd pick if I were you, but 255/40 will still be a bit smaller outer diameter than stock.
I am not sure on the hubcentric bore of a 350Z. Can anyone confirm if 350Z wheels will fit an A32? Worst case, you need to get a different set of hubcentric rings.
If I were you honestly I'd call TR before doing all of this unless you are the type that just likes to wing it... for the price it's worth it IMO, I'd be all over these if I had the cash right now.

Those look a lot better in person on that car and the wheel/tire combo is light enough to play frisbee with.

For some reason, when I am far away from my car, my rears look sunk in as hell
Need spacers!
