i paid $104/each for Toyo FZ4 225/45 R17. I don't know what youre looking for or looking to get out of a tire.. but thats what I have. Car is lowered with RSB and the tires seem to work well. Only thing to compare to is the 55 series tires that were on there when I bought the car.. obviously these are Way better!

i suppose 55 profile tires are cheaper compared to my current 225 50 R17 but I'm trying to replace a pair instead of all 4 so have to be 50 profile

I like the BF Goodrich's G-force Sport, its a great UHP summer, but i took them through the snow at lake tahoe ski resorts and they were fiine. These tires handle like crazy, the sidewalls are super hard, though, may be a little punishing on routine driving on bumpy or broken roads. to top it all off, Costco lifetime mount/balance/road hazard repair, the cost is super cheap relative to other UHP and nitrogen air with green cap.

I like the BF Goodrich G-force Super Sports AS because they give me that extra bite in winter, but love how the handle too. they seem quieter than the sports and less jarring, although i went up to 18" inchers with 235/40. Eventhough i lost about 1/2 an inch of sidewall, seem quieter and smoother.

I have been very happy with my Yokohama YK520 tires I bought 17 months ago. But they are only sold by Discount Tire, which has no stores in some states. These YK520s ahould cost around $128 each, and seem to get the best customer reviews on several sites I checked.

I have been extremely happy with the Yokohama ADVAN S.4. in 235/45/17s. I live in Canada so I only use them in the summer times. Have been using them for about 4 summers now, by far the best tire I have ever experienced. I initially paid about 190+/ tire almost 4 years ago when these tires were first introduced. If you are looking for an excellent summer tire, I would recommend the Yokohama S.Drives (replacement for the ES100s). They are currently going for about 120/tire on tirerack.com. Excellent Tire.

well cheaper is a relative term, you should state the year round conditions you drive in and the type of driver you are

if you want the cheapest in the world, i would try a junk yard, then a used tire shop, and then wal-mart

lol

Hey guys, I have an O4 Max and I am about to change my tires. I am looking at Nexen N7000, Kumho ECSTA ASX and General Exclaim UHP - I want all-season tires given that I do most of my driving between PA and NY and hence have to deal with all the weather elements. I am open to other brands as well. My tire size is 245/45/18 - I don't want a lot of noise and I am looking for good tread wear.

These are ALL cheap tires.
I bought similar tires the last two sets - and although, they were decent -- they were simply inferior to the more expensive brands.
They will be competent for about 20-25k miles, and that's all.
Expecting flat-spotting, difficult balancing, and uneven tread-wear.
You get what you pay for.

Good tread wear is not with those.
of those 3 choices I would go with the generals.

Thanks for the feedback. I did some deeper research after writing the original post and decided not to go with any of those. I visited Tirerack.com and found these Dunlop SP SIgnature http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=5

Anyone have any feedback on these? Tirerack's reviews are pretty positive but still want to know how they ride on Maxima's especially the 04.

Just bought Bridgestone Turanzas with "serenity". All season touring tires that are supposed to last a while. Happy so far. Good ride, but only about 1000 miles on em now. about $160/tire here.

Goodyear Eagle GT

Hey fellow Maxima owners,

I have an 04 Max and I need to get some All-Season tires right away. I currently have Goodyear RSA on. I am not pleased with the tread wear on them. I am thinking of getting the Goodyear Eagle GT. What is the verdict on these ? http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Model=Eagle+GT

I recommend Bridgestone Potenza RE960s. I've had them for about 32k miles and I'm still above 4/32" (above Washington's head on a quarter). I've had Toyos Proxes 4, Kumho's ASX, Avon 550 A/S. The Bridgestone's have the best performance, best ride quality, lowest noise.

Yokohama Advan S4 all around on my 04MaxSE. I put them on summer 07 and they're great in summer and Philly winters.

Fusion HRi's. Running them on my Altima, 35K miles and virtually no wear. Great summer, rain and snow tire rolled into one. And at $305 out the door all 4, the price can't be beat either.

Im currently running Nexen n-5000 all season's on my 02 I35, and im completely happy with them. Was a bit sceptacle at first due to its cheap price, and unknown name, but after doing extensive research, and reading several positive reviews, i decided to go out and get me a set.

Overall, i would say that this is a great all season tire. They provide great grip, nice and quiet, excellent in the rain, and good in the snow. Drove up to Vermont last week in a massive snow storm, and these tires performed much better than i expected.

Like i said, dont get discouraged by the name and price. These tires performed much better than most major brand name tires that i've had over the years. Had a set of Bridgestone Turanza el-42's on my car prior to these, and i litteraly flung them once they were taken off. HORRIBLE tire!

Had the tires installed and balanced for $400 out the door.

I have a question . I currently have 2006 Maxima on 22x8.5 w/ Hankook ventus v4 es h105 245/30/22. These are good tires but I was wondering if it's possible to add wider tires on this wheel 22x8.5. Possibly 255/30/22 or even bigger, possible at all?

Good tires and they last a LONG time, only thing I really don't like about them is the road noise. Most streets around here on concrete and the 520's get pretty loud on them depending on how they are grooved.

The Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 tires I had were defintitely not worth the money. I try pretty hard not to spin my tires but even part throttle around turns would spin them pretty hard. Ended up getting only 15,000 miles out of them-and the driver's side tire wore just as fast (I don't have limited slip) so it wasn't because I was constantly laying rubber out of intersections. In addition, they were even louder than the Yokohamas.

I just got a set of Falken ZE-912s and so far, I really like them. Much quieter...MUCH!...than either the Yokohamas or Michelins, very good in the rain. Noticed a touch of tread squirm through a somewhat tight freeway sweeper at about 20 over but that might be partially because the tires had maybe 100 miles on them. Looking over the reviews, despite being all season radials, they apparently aren't that good in snow and ice. Since either isn't too common here in the Dallas area (couple times a year), I'll just use a bit of common sense if we do get any frozen precipitation. I also like the 40,000 treadwear warranty and that the tires have rotation/balance indicators.

+1 for General Exclaim UHPs

I replaced Michelin Pilot Sport A/S with Bridgestone Potenza 960A/S on my Maxima. I got 50K out of the Pilot Sports and they held up well. The 960's are just as good as the Pilot Sports and they are much quieter. So quiet, I didn't realize how loud the Pilots were. I have about 16K on the 960's and the treadwear is still deep. I also just put new tires on my Accord and got the Yokohama YK520's. I wanted to go with the 960's on this car, but Discount Tire gave me a better deal on the Yokos. So far they are fine, but only have about a thousand miles on these.

+2 for the exclaims, even year round they're cool, we've gotten almost 60" of snow up here so far and allthough they're not the greatest in the snow by any means they are still manageable. And I know what I'm about to say is completely unreliable- but I feel that my freind would have a DUI if other tires were on the car when he hit a pot-hole that bent the **** out of the rim & put a egg the size of a fist on the sidewall but it still held air. I had a similiar situation happen with proxes4's and it was nowhere near as harsh yet it blew out.

Toyo's by far are my favorite brand of tires. I would put them up agaisnt any brand out there. I got my Toyo's at treadepot.com. They seem like the only place that sells them online.

I got Michelin Primacy tires from Costco. They were very pricey but you get the road hazard warranty and lifetime balancing, rotation, and flat fix. These tires are day and night different from the stock Continentals. With the Michelins, you roll for miles on the highway when you take your foot off the gas.
