235/45-17...will it fit?

Sooooo I have some 5.5 gen. wheels laying in my garage that need tires. The closest I can get to matching the factory size wheel/tire combo diameter is 235/45-17...and that's a fine size for me, no complaints. What I need to know is, am I going to be rubbing anywhere or have any clearance issues? I have J30 front brakes and I'm lowered on Progress/Illumina if that helps.

Only reason I ask is because most 4th gens. with 5th gen. 17" wheels seem to be running other sizes (involving 225-width tires and such), so I don't seem to have much to compare to.

I was. Decided I had other priorities. These wheels have been laying in my garage for MONTHS though, I can't keep staring at them!

Thanks for the confirmation

Good to know. What wheels were they on? Mine are going on 5.5 gen. wheels.

I'm running 235/45 on my 5.5 on H&Rs - no problems and love the way it looks.

Lots of folks running it too w/ no problems.

Remember, 235/45 will actually be a little ballooned out on most tires (unless your particular tire runs narrow) and therefore will offer degraded handling because of the abnormal dynamic tendencies of the contact patch of an "out-stretched" sidewall.

I'm looking at summer tires on TireRack (mostly Max and Ultra High Perf. stuff), if that means anything. The way I see it, coming from 16" SE wheels with undersized (205/55-16) "meh" all-season tires on it, my handling can only get better or at the very least stay the same in this situation.
