19" wheels. Will they look good or goofy?

Its summer time and my car needs new shoes. I'm running on my stock Infiniti I30 fins and am looking to class it up a bit.

I found some nice 19" chrome wheels and I was wondering if they will fit on my car and look ok. Also, I live in MN and the roads are pretty harsh, will 19"s just kick my *** the entire ride?

I have it lowered 2" and I will be using adapters for the bolt pattern so it will be sticking out another 3/4 to an inch on both sides.

Let me know your thoughts please!

Thanks,

Phil

heavily depends on which rims you pick.

Thanks for the link, I think they look great. How is the ride quality? My car is already a bit stiff, but still rides just fine.

The rims I would get would be Konig Prophets (http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_p...ID=1&ss_id=286)

Hmmm, ok. I've got KYG adjustable with lowered springs. Will 19"s cause a huge difference or moderately noticeable?

Thanks

Heck yeah they will look good, just get some rims with a Fat *** lip,
the only draw back is the price on a decent brand of tires

Haha yeah no doubt they will look good. But I am concerned about the ride quality. I'd rather keep my ***** than loose em' for lookin' a little more badass haha. Also, being lowered 2" 1/2 makes me wonder if they will clear alright.

first of all... sorry man, but you're in the wrong section. we ACTUALLY have a tire and wheel forum...

anyway, for the question.
as long as you get tires with this size: 235/35R19 ...the overall diameter of your wheels PLUS tires will be roughly the same.

the only other problem with bigger wheels (or, more accurately, wider tires) is with rubbing on the inside fenderwell (aka splashguard), which you have solved with your adapter spacing (pushing) them out a little bit.

as far as those rims, i would like to see them in gunmetal. this is coming from a guy who hates chrome though
good luck

Thanks tyler! Sorry for the wrong thread location, totally forgot about it!

I found some 17"s I like with 215/45r17h. Will that work or look too narrow?

Thanks!

if youre worried about rough roads, stick with 18's to be safe. no shame in having enough rubber to protect your investment.

lol save some real money. get some mustang 17's that are 8 wide and use 225/45-17 tires. no rubbing an ok ride but im on s-tech's and kyb agx's so its harsh on stock blades. i spent about $300 for rims and tires =D check my pics definitely a diff look. stands out from the crowd of 6 bars and get alot of compliments on them =)

im sure if hes debating to put on 19s he isnt too worried about how much fun his car is an just wants to have it look good and it all depends on what rim he gets theres 19s that are lighter than smaller rims

19's I think is perfect size if you are wanting something nice. If you are going for speed i would say get a smaller light weight wheel. As long as you have the right suspension set up you will be good. Go with a set coilovers, or a good set of springs and struts, almost any adjustables. I had tokico adjustables and stechs and I thought the ride was good. But if the roads are that bad I would say go 18's unless you just don't mind POSSIBLY messing up your wheels.

I have 19's too, and agree that buying tires sucks lol.

Though I prefer the ride of 17's with fatter tires, the looks of 19's can't be beat!

just make sure you have cash to replace those very expensive tires. d@mn tires cost more than 20" tires, hence the reason i got rid of mine

I say, stop worrying about the size until you find something better than those konigs.

And about sizing, it's possible to make anything from 16s to 22s look good on a maxima. "Perfect sizing" is based on execution.
