offset is how much the wheels stick out from the rotors..

i have +20 offset on the maxima in this picture you can see how they stick out further then they should

ppl normally do a lil bit wider rims and still install em like you would on a RWD car, just because it looks better not necessarily the pupose of staggering wheels, however like stated above offsets doesnt say how big or wide a wheel is, just where the wheel sits in the wheel well (prolly spelled wrong), more tucked or more flushed, sometimes poked out... e.g 19X8 wheel with +35mm offset will sit more tuck in a wheel well than a 19X8 wheel with a +22mm offset... get it???

Offset isnt necessarily for RWD only. Honda Challenge cars and HPDE FWD run staggered fronts for traction purposes. Most even run staggered offsets and wheel size. ( i.e low offset fronts and bigger rims in front).

But, it is trendy now to put staggered RWD setups on FWD. Im guilty of it. its purely aesthetics. it has a way more agressive look to it than same wheel size/offset all the way around.

oh right, okay staggered is what I meant not offset.
So is there any drawback to having staggered rims with larger in the back on a FWD?

What do you use your car for?

Is it just a daily driver?

Autox?

1/4 mile?

etc.

Widening the rear offset (track) help reduce oversteer or create understeer.
1/4mi is one of the best examples of stagger. FWD huge low profile wide slicks on the front; skinny doughnut types on the rear. For DD or casual 1/4mi use 20mm won't change anything.

Yea that looks real nice.

Can I do a 20mm offset with my stock lugs and rims? do you think that would look good or would the car have to be lowered for the offset to look good?

You still dont understand the difference between staggering and offset. They are not the same thing.

-Staggering- means running different size wheels front and back

-Offset- is how far the hubcenter of the wheel is from the centerline of the wheel.

You keep saying "offsets" when you mean "stagger". Learn the proper terminology and figurout sizing and it will make your wheel choice 100 times more simple.

Any rim other than stock on a maxima looks bad before you lower it. Get some sort of suspention setup before you get wheels... trust me. You'll appreciate the car that much more.
