Milling wheel hub

Has anyone here ever had to mill the wheel hub in order to "raise" the offset? The wheels I want are only offered in (19x8.5) +17 and +45mm offsets. I was thinking about getting the +17's and having them milled down ~10-13mm on all 4 wheels.

Here are the wheels in question, Tenzo Type-M's

I'm trying to get as much concavity as possible. I realize that this is mostly influenced by the wheel width but I wasn't sure if the offset affected it as well. If offset doesnt affect it, I'll probably just get the +45's and bolt-on 15mm spacers.

Thanks in advance!

Offset usually does affect it, best to find out any physical difference between the two.

I've had friends mill ill-fitting wheels with great success, though taking that much material off the hub is pushing it; it's entirely dependent on how much hub material you have to work with. For a 5th gen, I take it that milling off even 8mm is more than enough if you also run a 215/225 wide tire, which I would anyways with that style of wheel

i'm currently running mille evo5's just like you, 19x8.5 +25 all around, the offset on the rear is perfect but I have minor rubbing that i just want gone. The front sticks out about 5mm so i'm thinking somewhere around +28-30 would be ideal all around.

Also, I hate the stretched tire fad, I wont run any narrower than a 245.

This is going on a 5.5, in case my sig didn't give it away...

btw, that's one of the sickest 4th gen's i've ever seen.

well, i spoke to the "expert" at tenzo. In summary I told him i had an '02 maxima, he says +45 all day long. I told him i was running +25's right now and they need to be offset about 5mm more.

Long story short, he said the max milling amount is 5mm. So these rims are out of the question.

the search continues.

run the 17 in the rear and the 45 up front with a 20mm spacer. faux-stagger look. roll fenders and be done... until you realize that fender and tire can't occupy the same space at the same time and adjust tire preference accordingly.
