Question about 18's

ok so i wanna buy 18's for my 01 maxima gxe [silver].
question is this.
what would be better:
18x8
Offset: +40mm Backspacing: 6.06" Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size: 235/40-18
Weight: 26.5lbs.

or

18x7.5
Offset: +42mm Backspacing: 5.90" Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size: 235/40-18
Weight: 26.0lbs.

ill take all opinions.

why though? and it wont be rubbing? also i have no drop at all yet :[
and it wont be sticking out?! and will that wheel look good?

stagged Problem

sorry new here can't start my own thread .i have 98 max with 225/45 in the front and back.but my back (stagged) rims hits at highway speed. Drop 1.5 front ,1.8 back. do you think i can put the stagged rims in the front?

They wont be close to rubbing or sticking out. In fact I would even run 15mm spacers in the back to equal the width out front to back. Nice looking rims, if not a bit heavy.

Lower offset=better.
Wider rim=better.

No it won't stick out, but it'll be closer to lining up with the fender than stock.
