G35s Rub after drop

Did I do something wrong? I installed previously paired agx/intrax springs with slightly more than 2" drop now my tires rub when I hit dips in road. Has anyone else experienced this? 235 40 18s

Yes, dude who did allignment told me that I shouldn't have dropped it without putting "spindles" on it, whatever the f*ck they are. From what i've read on the org, this is one of the most common and popular mods on 4 gen maximas, and G35 rims are a very popular rim. Just don't understand how my set up rubs and others don't. Already posted in tires/wheels thread with not much help there.

What's your front camber at? Most alignment shops with lowered cars will add some negative camber in the front.

I would just roll the fenders.

Stupid question, but are the wheels OEM staggered? If so, do you have the front wheels on the front and the rears on the rear?

How are your struts? when you push down on the front end (make it bounce) it should bounce once then level off. If it keeps bouncing then your struts are gone. another thing. are your agx's adjustable? if they are then try stiffining them up a bit.

I have this same issue with my car, but mine rubs in the back. But it will only usually happen if its a substantial dip in the road.

Well, if he got OEM G35C rims, and not replicas, the offset is +30 for both front and rear.

The OP should pull the wheels and check the offsets, as the offsets are stamped into to back of one of the spokes. And check to see if they are indeed genuine (Nissan will be stamped into the back of the wheel as well).

these are 18x8 +30 all around from the factory. those DO appear to stick out too much for that spec so as the wizard said, check to see if they are legit wheels or not. either way, 235's with +30 is bound to rub on an 8" wheel with 2" drop. Thats pretty much a fact so im not sure who told u they wouldnt. step it down to 225 with -1 degree camber

I know someone on here who has these same tires/rims combo with 2" drop and doesn't rub. I'm guessing it has something to do with camber, and his is a 99, mine is a 95.

They are definately OEM, have the nissan stamp on all of them. How do I adjust the camber?

i thought these were 18x8-front and 18x8.5-rear....do you know how to check your width on the back of the wheel? its stamped in one of the spokes...

as far as camber...i'd just take it back to the shop and tell them to add some camber, although i dont know how many degrees to tell them to add for you, i'm sure someone will give good advice...but i'm thinking something minor like .5(degrees) because it doesnt look like its rubbing too extreme..or like i mentioned..rolling the fenders always works

To be honest, I never looked at the back until this morning and noticed they actually have front and rear stamped on there, do all oem g35s have wider rear?

G35 and 350z run staggered oem wheels...usually 8s up front a 8.5s in the rear...do you have all rears or all fronts? btw i think the rear offsets are like +33 if i remember correctly, dont quote me

You thought wrong. 18x8's all around.

Yes, but only for slightly wider TIRES.

Incorrect. Not all run staggered wheels.
18x8 G35C rims are +30 all around.

Again, look for the offset stamped in the back of the spoke and confirm they're +30.

All you can do is add some camber or raise your car slightly. Your choice.

according to you putting me on blast and what i found after you put me on blast, theres no need for him to check anything else...you were correct, about the width 18x8, and the offsets are all the same as well +30

http://forums.nicoclub.com/g35-g37-o...s-t342067.html

which brings us back to square one...

your fronts are whats rubbing right? only thing i can recommend is run a little camber but since i'm sure you want to try to preserve teh life of your tire...i just say roll the fenders. get someone that will do it correct so that it wont crack your paint at the seam. what i mean by 'the correct way' is that they use a heat gun of some sort so that it will soften the paint so that it will 'flex' with the metal

unless u run an OEM stretch ur gonna rub. I use to have some Z wheels the fronts would rub when i put 245s on them when i was running 225s no rub. Its not gonna do any damage it just sounds annoying.

The front u need not worry about The REAR, there is a sharp lip in the rear fender that will slice through tires. Have the rears rolled.

It still couldn't hurt to check the offset as many guys run G35C rims with no rubbing issues, and with substantial drops.

LOL at putting you "on blast". It was already established that they're 18x8's with +30 offset yet you still kept mentioning other possibilities; hence why I quoted and corrected you....or put you "on blast" as you call it.

You do realize there is a G35 wheel sticky in the wheel forum, don't you? No need for nicoclub link.....

^^ I dont rub,and i have similar drop and same tire sizes...fren doesnt rub either and he has coilovers. I thought all coupe 18x8 wheels came with +30 offset, how is it no one else had this problem. Even the replicas are +30 offset but instead are 18x7.5, so my question now is...does Remminator have wheels that no one else has?

P.S even if the OP puts front to front and rear to rear, he will be back to square one when he rotate tires unless he unmounts etc. Would be good if you could measure all 4 rims to see if they are all 18x8. Only rear fenders can be rolled.

^ Ok, but no one else's G35c's stick out that much, if he had on my wheels, no way he would rub, my entire wheel sits inside the fender. From the Op's pictures, it would seem as though its the edge of the tire that's rubbing and not on the top where the tread is (I can be wrong).

Not that I'm aware of, no evidence of overspray or bodywork. I wonder if there is a suspension component that needs to be adjusted/replaced?

I'm just trying to say that they dont come nowhere near the OP's.

P.S OP try and measure the rims yourself if you can and determine the width and let us know how the "F" to front and "R" to rear situation works.

I cant remember if my wheels has front or rear stamped in them. Just for that fact alone, I would think they are different specs.

^^Did you stretch em !? I run 235/40/18 Falken ziex ze-512's in that picure and still have them on at the moment. No rub at all. But we're straying from the point here, the OP still has problems.

Depends on the tire too.

I had 1 brand of tires and never rubbed, changed tire brands, kept the same size, and rubbed like you wouldn't believe.
