2010 19" rim restoration color match?
Car was hit in the Rim,totaly messed up rear suspension.. Geico restored rather that replaced the rim.It came back a plain silver(maybe 2009 color) and I am having i them redoit Tuesday next week .
Seems to me the 2010 factory "hyper silver" color is not a solid color but has shadowing effect on the rim as if it was mutllti stage application and maybe one layer was buffed off to create shadows?
Any one know about this?
Are these powder coated from factory?
Any comments on what the actual color for 2010 rim is and if it can be reproduced at a rim reconditioning shop?

I have personally seen successful Hyper Silver refinishing/color matching. I was quite amazed that it could be done. If you go to a body shop (vs. a wheel specialist), they are likely to just paint it with a silver body color. Call your local Infiniti or Mercedes (or other make that comes with a Hyper finish) dealer and ask them where they send their damaged Hyper Silver wheels for refinishing.
