Wheels retorqued

I had my wheels balanced and rotated. Whenever I get this done, on the workorder, it always says to have the wheels retorqued after 25 miles. I have never had them retoruqed and am wondering how necessary/important it is.

It's not necessary unless they are new, or should have centric rings and don't. Old oem wheels are fine.
