Wheel question

Ok so call me a noob, I'll take the heat lol. I checked the search tab and couldn't find anything. I have a 2001 Maxima GLE and found some 6th gen 18" SE wheels with tires for $250. Pretty good deal. However, here is my problem I think. The tires these rims came on are 245/45r18 which is the correct size for the 6th gens. When driving home last night after I put them on, I heard a whopping noise and something that sounded like it was rubbing against the back of the wheel maybe? Haven't really looked into real thorough yet but I'm think maybe the tires are too big for the 5th gen and need to go to a smaller size like a 235/50? Again, if this is a common question, call me a noob thats fine lol. Thanks!

Plug in the numbers and see the difference in tire size.

You need to compare them to the tire size that came on your car. I'm guessing they are quite a bit too large.

Most definitely. I didn't think it would be much of a difference but after mounting them and riding on them the last couple days, its definitely not a comfortable ride. So I'm going to get them swapped out with some 245 or 235's and much better tire.

FYI, do not get Capital tires. Horrible ride. I can't complain too much since I got the wheels and tires for $250 but still, not a tire I would recommend.
