(3) I unbolted the VIAS/Actuator and pulled it out to discover what i had already suspected to be a broken part. As you can see, the plate and two screws are also missing. Not good. ..building a good case for my lifter tick hmmmmmmm

(4) i was able to see the throttle plate for the actuator/vias sitting back inside the upper intake manifold on the oposite side. So i pulled it out. No screws.... Uh oh.

(5) After assuming the obvious; that the screws have been sucked down the intake and toward the valves, i removed the upper intake manifold to search it for the screws and to get in deeper (yesssss) (a sexual yessssss lol) to look for the tiny bastards and inspect the lower parts for any obvious damage if the screws didnt fall out of this manifold. ..no screws.

(6) I debated on whether or not to remove the lower intake manifold. And decided to check under the cam/valve covers first.

(7) I was a bit concerned with how filthy everything was. And decided that maybe the valve/lifter was just sticking because of that. No sign of any really horrible damage i suppose.

(8) decided to take off the lower intake manifold but grabbed a flashlight to see if i could look down the intake and spot the valves or anything else. ..and yep. Screws! Sitting right on top of a valve. I ended up slapping the motor back together and starting it. Still had the tick but added some Zmax to the oil and in about 11 or 12 miles the tick vanished. Lucky me! Also, after removing the screws, the "rattle" that some of us hear about 2000 to 3000rpm vanished too! wasnt the cat after all!
