All motor 4.5 gen, track progress
well, on january 31, 2015 i visit a track on ponce P.R., (el tuque) to make some test pass to know where i am. Currently I'm all motor with full weight. The track is like a hour and a half from my house so i let the car cool down for my first pass. I little info:
95 with 05 max engine
At this point i have 274hp / 256 TQ N/A
300zx saw blades 15" rims (front)
17" 350z rims (back)
MT ET Street Drag radials P235/60R15 set to 15psi
Open diff trans -( searching for a lsd)
So on my first pass i didn't heat the tires, launched at 2,000rpm going easy on the clutch. It finish being my best pass all night
First, i think the tires are to big for me now, i pass on 3rd gear but it feels like it struggleling to make it there.. loss traction on first, second and shirped 3rd gear. Before this tires i used a 205/50r15 nitto nt01 and the car make a burnout until 2nd gear lol and i put 4th gear before finish line..
The car have power but i need to improve my 60ft times to make the real numbers.
I will be posting my progress so gurus your help is welcome.
i can make more horsepower out of it but know i just want to improve those 60'

I would expect a higher trap speed out of a ~270whp 4th gen. I trapped 101.5 all night long with a generously estimated 250whp. Last dyno was 237whp.
I agree though, definitely more seat time to get the launch down.

that's right, I will try also a lower tire.. when i get out of the track a friend in a mustang gt 4.6 with bolt ons and tune he managed to do a 13.1@105 mph and we race on the street and i win for a car and a half..not bad..

23 or 24.5inch tire is great depending on your rev limit and future plans but 26inch tire is too big for a all motor setup. also like stated doubt your making 270hp + with that trap maybe your ks went bad recently. I remember with my 3.5 swapped 4gen my ks would pull timing with launching and between shifts and I had to ground it to the battery to fix they problem

I've found that revving a 5mt out to 7k-7.2k would improve my et by .2 sec on average over the stock 6.5k rev limit in the 1/4 mile. This was tested with a gutted 00vi which makes power all the way to fuel cut and a NON ssim'd 3.5 swap in which power peaks just before 6k rpm. Both setups showed improvement with the extended rev limit.

Yeah, something is not adding up according to your horsepower and trap speed unless you are racing in the mountains. Are you saying that you are or you are not running a knock sensor? I had issues running a knock sensor because the launch could turn pretty violent and the car would pull timing, thinking it was knocking. I have not had this problem since running a resistor in it's place. Also, I don't remember what manifold you said you are running but with my set up (very similar to yours if I remember correctly) the standard SSIM really hurt my performance. Just to give you a point of reference my car (3.5 swapped 4th gen) traps almost 107 and I gain almost 23 mph in the final 8th.
