EGR Problems 3/2 Code - Help!
I got the 3/2 engine light code, and replaced the EGR valve with a new one and cleaned all possible passages. Reset ECU and all was well, for about one week. The engine light went back on, and returned the 3/2 code again.
Suggestions please. What could or should be the next item to evaluate. The car runs perfect, only problem is I need to get a PA emissions inspection sticker, which has now expired. Thanks for all of your help.

EGR Valve
Thanks for your response. The supplied link does not work. Is it correct?
I did clean that little metal tube, and used RTV gasket sealer where the EGR bolts to the engine. What other gaskets are you referring to?
Thanks.

If you are talking about 0302, I had this for about 6 months. Finally about 3 months ago I replaced the EGR Control Solenoid Valve (EGRC Solenoid Valve). Not sure how it looks like in your year model max. but mine is 1996 GLE and it's a GREEN looking value between the engine bay and the air intake. If you know where the knock sensor is, you will definitely spot GRC Solenoid valve as it comes in the way when you try to stick your hand between the V of cylinders to change the knock sensor....
Replaced mine and reset the ECU.... Problem solved. None of the hoses were blocked though.... Also keep in mind this valve is pain in the neck to remove as the bolt is right underneath it..
Yeah, and bought it from the dealership for $70...just to give you an estimate... Good Luck !!!

To test if the valve is bad or not.. Just take it out (remove all three hoses from it) and blow some air from your mouth at the end where there is just one pipe. If air comes out at the other end from two outlets, the valve is OK. If you don't feel air coming out at the other end... there you go... it's the valve... replace it !!!

Thanks for all of the helpful info.. Appears that I need to replace the EGRC Solenoid Valve. Checked Auto parts sites and that exact title does not exist.
Is it also known as "Nissan EGR Vacuum Controller Description: EGR Vacuum Controller BPT (back pressure tranducer) valve"?? Thanks.

That's a tough one to find online. I ended up going to the dealership and buying one. But before I bought it.. I made sure the one in my car was not working and also made sure the one I buy, looks exactly like the one I took out of my car.
And No, EGR Vacuum Controller BPT Valve is same as EGR Control Solenoid Valve... HTH !!!

Question on this: When blowing air thru the single tobe end, air comes out of one of the two tubes, but not both. Should air come out of bothe tubes?
Does this indicate that the valve is bad? Thanks.
