What does ecu code 0505 mean?
I thought my turbo setup would give me a bunch of codes but there was only one, 0505. It says that there's 'No Failure Recorded/Detected'. What does that mean?
I know for sure one of my o2 sensors at fault because I havent pluged it back in yet and possibly the fuel pump because I keep dying out if I rev the engine over 4500 and let it go back to idle.
Can anyone figure that out too? Thanks George

Yea, after getting the code I resetted it, but it was still there. Im pretty sure its the o2 but I can't install it until I tap the pipe.

You say that like an expert, then why's the code still there when I reset the ecu? And just because I can install a basic bolt on turbo doesn't mean I understand the ecu. What have You done instead of the basic intake and y?

are you serious kid?
NO FAILURE RECORDED.
if NOTHING is FAILING, then EVERYTHING is WORKING.
take your car to the mechanic that obviously installed your turbo if you want proof that 0505 means your car is fine, since there's no way anyone from your dim-witted gene pool could have done it themselves.
you have a thick head, and I'm done arguing with you. peace.

He said that the CEL is on but when he checked the codes he got an 0505.
maxima_kid - reset the CEL and see if it comes back. More than likely it will not. If you can get your hands on an ECU plugin, you can check for stored codes after that, in case there is one.
I think the knock sensor throws a light with no code when it is on its way to biting the dust? I haven't had it happen, thankfully but I have seen it do that for some people.

(this is me on the intercooler)
final steps in finishing. Bumper needs to go back on.
Now if you were me, would you pay a machanic to install a turbo,
then finish with a half *** job and zip tie the fuse box to the frame like I did?
Now heres a better view
And ... the rest of it ...

If you knew how to ask properly, then your answers will be given properly. Find a autozone and have them run a diagnostic for you with the scanner, that will give you your answer for the CEL being on.

'What does ecu code 0505 mean'
How much more proper can you get?

since he went so far as to PM me to have me read his post, I'll reply one last time.
you asked us what 0505 meant. we told you. you refused to believe us. we gave you proof. you still refused to believe us. that's why people started teasing you.
bottom line being this:
if you don't want our advice, don't ask for it. a lot of us are here answering questions like this so that you don't have to go to a mechanic to have the same simple questions answered for some sum of money. if you want to pay someone to give you the same answer, by all means go ahead, and forget anyone ever attempted to help you.
have a nice day.

I think that is the real problem. He asked the question and didnt like the answer he got, because of the way it was phrased. Sure if you start actin all ***** then folks will tease you. I ask questions all the time and I have no problems. The dim witted gene pool had me lmao!!!!!

All I needed was to have one person to give a more indepth answer to it instead of just telling me the code reads nothings wrong.
I KNOW THAT. If nothings wrong, the light wouldnt keep coming back on after resetting it. Now if no one else can give me a better answer than that. Please Do Not Post.

maxima_kid,
I just wanted to let you know that I fully understood what you were trying to get accross. I recently had the same problem as you. No matter how many times you reset it the same 0505 code poped up.
To those who did give maxima_kid a hard time, you have to understand that by definition, "NO FAILURE RECORDED" doesn't necessary mean there IS no problem with the car. It just means nothing was recorded when it did fail (if it did). But since mine and maxima_kid's 0505 error keeps coming back on, I would think there is a problem somewhere.
If you ever find an answer let me know. I would rather try and fix the problem w/o going to a mechanic
