3.5 swap varible timing question

hey guys I got a questions. im in the middle of doing a 3.5 swap. haven't been on this page in a wile. bought a integra ended up turboing it and my 3.5 sat for a wile. well now im at the point of getting it all together. sooooo im almost done putting the timing back together. but I have a question that I cant seem to find the answers. soo

seeing how I have been dealin with a lot of Hondas. that's all my friends drive and they all need swaps done and they come to me. soo I no when swapping to a vtec the cheap *** easy way to wire in vtec the old school way was (seeing how its just a 12volt source) is wiring up a shift light and the 12vlot light source went right to the vtec solenoid so you can set the vtec to come on when ever you want with the light.

soo the question again I have is how would I wire in the variable cam timing on my 3.5 swap? could I do it the same set up as the shift light? I have been looking for the last 3 days on it and haven't came up with much. I wanna know so when I go to swap it all I can have everything ready at once. threw is one on both sides of the motor.

im gonna look into it more but figured someone on here could help. thanks guys

I'm not really sure what you want to do. A "shift light"? That is a light that comes on when the ECU thinks it's the right time to shift up? Where might such an item be on a Max? If you're putting in a 3.5 presumably you are changing the ECU to suit, so why not simply do it the usual way?

The valve timing on these cars is continuously variable, and uses solenoids to control cam phasers on the intake cams. It is not an on/off switch like VTEC/VVL.

Easiest way to control this is by swapping the ECU, engine harness, gauge cluster etc into your car from the donor car.

I believe he's referring to an aftermarket adjustable rpm switch.

The " usual" way is swapping in 3.0 timing chains and sprockets and running the 3.0 ecu.
