Alarm issues- Goes off Randomly

Hi Everyone,

I have tried looking for a solution to my problem with no luck yet, so hopefully someone can help.

About a year and a half ago, some punk tried breaking into my 95 Nissan Maxima while I was at work. He tried removing the driver's door handle. I managed to get the handle back in myself, but now whenever I try to unlock my door with the key from the driver's side, the alarm goes off. Since I had also misplaced my keyless entry, I had to unlock my car from the passengers side. (Annoying and not safe at night)

Now that I found my keless and use it to lock my car, the alarm will go off randomly, especially in the middle of the night. I unlock it with the keyless but when I lock it again, about 5 mins later it goes off again...and again.

The only way the alarm doesn't go off now is if the car is unlocked or if I lock it from the passenger sde again.

Is there anyway to reset the alarm system or fix these issues?

Any solutions are greatly appreciated and would help avoid sleepless nights!

Replace the handle and latch mechanism would be my guess.

There is an electrical switch on the lock cylinder that may not be operating fully. You will have to take off the door panel and check the linkage to it.

Mine did the same thing after I broke into it for the first time. I never did figure out how to stop it. I just pulled the fuse so I no longer have an alarm. Mine is a 99 , I have heard a lot about the security system disabling the car, but I have never had this issue.

im pretty sure its just some wire inside the doors, just take off the panel and see whats wrong. it cannot be anywhere else. has to be around the driver door area that is causing it
