You either have a vacuum leak, or more likely an issue with the iacv. Intake air control valve. This device allows air into the engine for idling. If it malfunctions, your car will be hard to start when cold, but may idle normally when warm. Has the place you live gotten cold? Did your car idle normally a month or two ago?

Can you keep the engine running long enough for the engine to warm up? And if you can, does the problem seem to go away?

Could be bad mass air flow sensor. Try to unplug the sensor and see if it stays running and if it does then it's a bad maf. Also a bad maf will usually stall the car while driving or stall while its in drive at least that's what happened to my Nissan Maxima 97 se.

If it's temperature sensitive, it's the iacv. That's it's job.
It can be removed, cleaned, reinstalled. Instructions are available in the search section. Been there, done that.

How cold is it in the morning where you are? A bad ECTS that reports a false high temperature when cold will cause a lean fuel mixture, which is the exact opposite od what a cold engine needs.

When the engine is cold and not running, unplug the wire harness and measure the resistance of the ECTS. At 50º F (10º C) the resistance should be around 4K ohms. At 70º F (21º C) about 3.5K ohm. At 195º F (90º C) it should read about 250 ohms.

Unfortunately I had this happen on my 99 se auto. Had only 50k miles. Was clean as new. I cleaned the iacv, it was clean like new. Look into the drop resistor, it might be causing issues. I had to rev it in neutral just high enough to get out of the driveway. The car also drove like it was stuck in high gear. Eventually a diff pin popped out thru the case. Still drove home fine. I have pics in my album and SC thread. I bought a newly rebuilt trans, LMK if you need one. Also have an old one from my current car that's not rebuilt but it drives perefct like the rebuilt one.
