4th GEN GLE BCM Replacement
My windows on the passengers side don't roll down. I tried replacing the master switch. No dice. After a diagnosis a mechanic told me it must the body control module. I've just ordered a used one and would like to install it myself, but I've been reading that some BCMs have to be programmed. Is this true of 4th Gen GLE Maximas? Has anyone replaced a BCM before? How can I do this myself?

BCM swap didn't fix it.
So, passenger side power windows, power locks, and lights don't work. I first replaced the master window switch to no avail. Then I replaced the BCM, with an identical BCM, the correct part number and year. Still no dice. Anyone got a read on this? DennisMik?

Making the assumption that the BCM you put in is good, about the only thing I can think of is that maybe some wires going into the door could have broken, the front door is a higher suspect.
Does the rear door window work form the switch in the door?
Also, what year is your car? The windows work differently on 95 & 96 vs 97 to 99.

How hard it is to repair broken wires depends on the location. When you solder broken wires together, it makes the wire shorter. So sometimes you have to add in a short piece of wire to make up the difference. How accessible the location is will play a part.
Even though the odds of having 2 bad motors is rather unlikely, I would still check the motor. Unplug the motor and jumper 12 volts and ground to it. Put the jumpers one way and the motor runs one way. Reverse the jumpers and the motor runs the opposite way. When the motor gets all the way to one end, and internal switch shuts it off. So depending on how you connect the jumpers, the motor may not run at first.
