You're lucky the motor is alive.

Where are the deniers?

Great thread, I figured the bogging down was some sort of exhaust clog, now I know where to start at on my car.

Yea, I really only drive it and ran it enough to diagnose the problem. It honestly hasn't moved since I sorted out exactly what it was that was causing all the fuss. I intend to revive it, but it will be with a full rebuild/refresh. It's not going to see the road until then.

Just so everyone understands; the motor is not OK after all of this. The damage has been done. Motor still runs, and is even fairly smooth and still has it's power, but the smoke and the random stuttering and pinging tells me all is not well.

Glad that my suffering has had some good come of it. Hopefully this can continue to help people salvage some of these otherwise awesome VQ35 motors. Best of luck with yours. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
