question regarding 02 ecu

I have a chance to buy an 02 maxima for cheap but i wanted to use a 95 nistune ecu, does the 02 max have a can network or is there anything huge limiting me from repinning the harness for a 95 ecu? if there is what other tuning options do i have other than besides emange.

If it's an AT ECU, yes, it has CAN. If not then no.

Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure that when you use the keyfob to lock/unlock the doors and roll down the windows it is done by means of the CAN.

I think we're both partially wrong. If you read down past the section AT section, near the top of page 54 it talks about CAN being used by the TCS system. While TCS is an optional feature, it can be on a car with manual. Or am I wrong in thinking TCS is used with manual trans?

Neither the EC section or the EL section (page 433) reference the keyless entry system. This is a change from the 4th gen, which does use CAN for the windows. The 5th gen still uses data communications to operate the windows, just not CAN. CAN uses 2 wires while the communications for the remote entry system uses one wire.

Oh well, never assume things are the same.
