OBDII reader?

Recently I purchased a fairly cheap bluetooth OBDII reader...So I go to use it on my car and cant get it to connect to the ECU. Everything else syncs up and I even tried it on my wifes car (2010 Yaris)

My question is with anyone running the tablet/obdII readers, are they working with your car? is it a brand thing or maybe a Nissan issue. I did some research and I don't know if we use a certain type of reader but I thought I would ask my fellow members for help or advice.

I bought a inexpensive bluetooth OBD reader off amazon a while back for my last car (BMW). It works just fine with my 09 Maxima. Reads codes using Torque on Android, clears codes, and some of the other real time engine data.

I did a lot of research on OBD reader's. I ended up getting the OBDLink LX Bluetooth which they claim is a professional grade automotive scan tool. It also has a battery saver, so it's plugged in all the time with out any loss to the battery. It claims to be hacker proof, you can read/clear the check engine light, you can customize a dashboard on your tablet or cell phone with real-time read out's of a variety of stuff on your car while you'll drive. Further it works with 3rd party apps (has it's own app in Google Play) and I think it works on IOS, also has Windows software as well. Either case, very useful to fully diagnose and figure out various issues going on in your car. I bought it from Amazon. You can see the details at:
Amazon.com: ScanTool 427201 OBDLink LX Bluetooth: OBD Adapter/Diagnostic Scanner for Android & Windows: Automotive Amazon.com: ScanTool 427201 OBDLink LX Bluetooth: OBD Adapter/Diagnostic Scanner for Android & Windows: Automotive

EDIT: There was also another web address on the box: scantool.net

Any new opinions?

Hello! I'm looking to invest in a good weekend OBD scanner that is considered intermediate level as I will only use on Maxima and 2008 GMC Acadia. Any recommendations for regular or BT types? ScanTool?
