clocking your 0-60 time
im not sure if anyone has made this thread (i searched) if so please let me know but i got curious and clocked my 0-60 time today in d ds and manual mode. and its true D is the fastest.
DS- 8.2 sec 0-60
D- 7.4 sec 0-60
manual shift- 7.9 sec 0-60
anyone else clock their times?
DS- 8.2 sec 0-60
D- 7.4 sec 0-60
manual shift- 7.9 sec 0-60

This makes perfect sense, as all other modes instill some semblance of shifting gears, which is a time and and fuel waster. Obtaining increased accelleration and increased fuel efficiency by avoiding shifting is the whole purpose of the CVT.

I used one of the GPS apps in my EVO and kept getting 5.9-6.0 consistently, if you're getting times this slow then something isn't right.

I suspect Nissan has a way to know if an engine has not been broken in as the manual calls for. No telling what all may be available through the onboard computers these days.

My 0-60 feels super strong, but it dies about 80. It runs much better in this cool air too.
Unless your car was taken straight off the truck, then there was probably some hard accelleration that you don't know about.
I took mine to redline right out of the gate...get the engine nice and tight...haha.

Absolutely. Nissan says no hard accelleration the first 1200 miles. I take it a little further, and wait until 2400 miles before letting her rip. I think that is one of the reasons I have never had a whisper of engine trouble in over 27 years of owning nothing but Maximas. Took one to 206,000 miles and another to 201,000 miles, and the engines ran very smoothly and needed no oil between oil changes the entire time I owned them.

I have bought alot of new cars over the past 10 years and not one dealer stated anything about proper break in procedures. Personally I think its hogwash. Drive it like you stole it out the gates... Never had an issue. We arent talking 1970's American poor build quality and bogus machining/tooling of engine components...
This breakin advice will also be found in the Owner's Manuals of every vehicle I am familiar with. Having a breakin period seems to be the opinion of virtually all professional engineers associated with all vehicles.
But you have the complete freedom to believe as you wish and treat your car any way you want. This is America, the land of the free.

Yea now i have noticed that once at about 40-60 mph switching from d into DS mode give crazy acceleration to 70mph or 80+

I've only timed mine with GPS/accelerometer apps. It's consistently at six flat in D, though I'd wager I could shave off another tenth or two if I started in Ds. I haven't noticed any change from 1200 miles and the current 17K save for those attributable to the transmission TSB.
