Stock Non-BOSE sound system on '03 Maxima - does it have built-in crossovers?
I have a 2003 Maxima with a NON-Bose sound system. I replaced the stock head unit a couple of years ago with a Pioneer Premier HU and i used a wire adapter to hook all the wiring on the back of the new HU. (direct plug-and-play from Metra)
Now i am thinking about replacing speakers on the front doors. As most of you know, the front doors have woofers installed (not a full range speaker from what i can see) and the tweeters are installed on the front pillars.
Usually, when we have woofer + tweeter combination, there is a crossover installed somewhere. I did not see such thing when i replaced the stock HU. There was only a pair of wires going to the "front left" and another pair of wires going to "front right". Somewhere, somehow these wires split so they can power both - the woofer and the tweeter on each side.
Is there a crossover mounted anywhere in the car that splits the speaker feed from the HU to the woofers and tweeters? If yes, where it is?
If not, does this mean that the front door speakers (woofers) receive full range audio feed?
Thank you!

So the tweeters and the door woofers get the same signal?? (full range frequencies)
In other words, IF i install 2-way speakers(not woofers) in the front doors, they will get full spectrum of the sound and no frequencies will be filtered?
Thank you!
