I fell in love with my car again (long)

Well, since school started this semester, I never really got a chance to enjoy all the fruits of the mods I have on my car. Last night a couple of friends and I just decided to go cruising around Buffalo at around 1 am. There was an ITR, a GSR and my car in our little group. One passenger in each vehicle, a camera and we were good to go.

For those of you from around here, this was our route for the night. Leave UB, get on the Audobon to the 990 to 290W to 290N to sejacueda (sp?) expy. onto the 33 to the 290 and back home. There were some really nice stretches in our little 15-20 mile road course. Of course, we drove around the entire length just to get a feel of the road and of we were! Once again this was past midnight and there were not too many cars, and I believe we did not drive in a manner endangering other peoples' lives.

When we got around for our run, the three of us went all out. The radar detectors in our cars sure came in handy! The only drawback was our tires since they became quite worn out over the summer. But I know one thing, my car let me do things that I don't think I'd have dared to even attempt without the suspension mods I have. Breezing through turns at an excess of 100 mph while no one was around, racing against the ITR from time to time, it was all a nice rush. I beat the ITR on the corners while we ran a couple of times. But everytime there was a straight road, he would pull on me.

When we got onto the 33, there was this Subaru Legacy GT who was tailing the ITR for a while, and just took off on the thruway. He must have been doing a good 85-90 mph. After seeing this, the three of us just floored it behind him. I passed my friends and took on the Legacy, and beat him quite badly I must say. He punched it too, but once we were past a 110 mph, he could no longer keep up. I think we got part of this on camera, but then I was too far ahead for the camera to focus.

The highlight of the night was my friend's ITR spinning out on a turn because he tried to take it too wide. Nothing happened to anyone or the car, but he was a little upset he couldn't get the car back in control. Either way, I was complimented on my car's prowess and it felt pretty darn good! That was definitely one memorable drive. We got the entire thing on tape, once I can transfer it to my computer, I'll post a link to it. But I love my car again...

AND YOU DIDN'T CALL ME???????????

Ranj...be care. I LOVE the 33/198...thats how I go home. I either go 290 to 33 to 198(exit elmwood) or 290 to 190 to 198(exit elmwood). Its one big loop. Did your friend go off on the 198? near the lake? it gets curvy there. Be care...and email me next time
