No. It'll help a bit, but it won't turn your auto into a 5-speed. The problem is the gear ratios. They are spread further apart on an automatic (only 4 gears), whereas on a manual (5 gears) they are closer together...

You have a CAI already. Get a y-pipe, that'll help even things out, esp. on the top end.

I just got this installed and its great. it shifts crisp and quick. with the right mods and tires, i could see it cutting the e/t by not a second, but about 3-4 tenths.

No offense to Don, who I hear is a great guy, but I never trust track times told to me by the person selling me the product.

If I believed everything I heard from a seller, I would have bought a Tornado Air months ago. 20hp!!!

The vb is the valve body in your tranmission. There are some solenoids on the inside of this part that control your shifts. Don modifies the VB so that the shifts are a lot faster and crisper compared to the stock maxima tranny which isnt exactly great. If you have an auto, this mod will be really worthwhile. In addition to changing shift points, it prolongs the tranny life. For more info check out dons website at http://www.mobiletek.net/vb.html

uh huh...only mod is CAI (According to profile), been a member since Jan 2 of this year, but post 47 times per day.

If you have this mod and its not working for you, then:
1) You had someone do the work that was "sub-par" in their mechanical aptitude and it consequently damaged your tranny (although I haven't heard a complaint from anyone)

2) You're transmision was very weak and in trouble to begin with.

Never slander something/someone if you can't back it up.

Ok, for the last time ... what RBa and YoItsOk posted up was a joke. They installed Don's VB ... but there were NO problems whatsoever.

Probably around .3-.5 seconds.

I got the VB mod. I like the 1-2 shift kick. It probably makes a little bit of difference, but not a huge deal. Also, if you want super smooth, don't get this mod, cause it does kick during that shift. People have asked me if there is something wrong with my tranny because of it.
Overall I like it though. Especially if it prolongs tranny life, although I am not exactly sure how it does that. I guess it's harder wear but for much shorter period of time, I think.
Oh, and get a tranny cooler. That goes without saying, whether or not you get the VB mod.
