anyone have a stage 2 valve body....

Well basically i bought a car with a stage 2 valve body installed from jeff. But i think something is messing up. Lately it hasnt been hitting the gears like it should usually when it hits first gear i can feel it but sometimes i dont feel it at all. And sometimes when it does happen it feels like it gets stuck and it trys to downshift or something. I dunno its weird is it anything to worry about. Its the original tranny with 166k. Tranny flush every 15k. Fluid is clean.

Vague post

So it doesn't bang into gear like usual, meaning it "slips" more? Or

I have a stage 2, but do not see the problems you are. Its hard to diagnose auto trans problems via the net though.

I have a II.5, and sometimes is shifts, "softer" than normal, meaning my liver stays intact, and other times it bangs like an "N" drop while going from 1-2.

i experience the same thing sometimes, it depends where the throttle is when the gears are shifting. maybe that is just how these work.

Yes. I noticed that when you accelorate aggresivelly and let off the gas it will shift hard (i.e. 1st to 2nd), but if you give a smooth acceloration it shifts with out the big bang effect.

I have a question about this valve body mod From what I understand it's only for automatics right. Is there a noticable difference after you do it and does it use more fuel?

only for auto and yes you feel a difference its a harder crisper shift and it doesnt burn more fuel. basically it preserves your clutches from burning out from slippage during the changing of gears
