I also ran a few other 14.4's and a few 14.5's. Today was the first time I removed my passenger seat and rear bench just to see what it would do. I do weigh around 230lbs so it just drops my car's weight down to what some of you light guys cars weigh. I didn't believe that my car could hit a 2.1 60 ft time. I think with a torque converter and/or JWT ecu with the raised rev limiter I could possibly run a high 13 second pass. There were a few witnesses from the .org there. I raced Luckee2bhere with his 5spd with intake/y-pipe and he ran a 14.8 @ 94.09 mph against me. Don't brush off a car anymore just because it is an auto.
my mods are the following:
Variable intake set at 5000rpm
Hybrid JWT Intake
Cattman SS Y-pipe
test pipe
B-pipe (non-mandrel 2.5)
Hooker Muffler
G-Force ECU
RVM Underdrive pulley
FSTB
RSB
Don's VB Mod
stock 15" wheels with 205/50-15 kuhmo tires.
B&G Lowering Springs
KYB AGX
no spare tire, jack, removed passenger seat and rear bench.
Tires 20 psi front, 32 rear

Hes had a few max's be4 and even built a 350+whp 4th gen be4, Hes been a lurker on these board for a while now. He was runnin mid-low 14's due to horrible wheelspin but was still Consistantly trapping over 100mph and once ran 102.X This I belive is the highest trap of any N/A max with only one bolt on and the Ghetto Airbox. He didnt have slicks or anything else. Just a good driver & a fast ride.

Here's my experience. I NEVER hit over 95mph until I added the UDP. I also never ran better than higher 14.8s. After the UDP, I was consistently getting 14.7s@96+mph in 50-70 degree weather.
As for the dyno, unfortunately I don't have a true before and after dyno with the UDP, but this is what I have to go on. With an HKS intake, Stillen y-pipe, and Courtesy B-pipe, I made 174fwhp and 193fwtq. A year later, I added an UDP along with replacing my Y-pipe with a WSP non-mandrel y-pipe. I ended up making 183fwhp and 193fwtq, but what was amazing was the increase in power from 4000-6200rpms. At some points I saw as much as 12fwhp/fwtq gained.
NOW, I have a very hard time believing a NON-MANDREL Y-PIPE out flowed a MANDREL BENT Y-pipe that dramatically. Now granted the WSP Y-pipe is slightly larger in diameter, I don't think it is solely responsible for such a significant gain. The dynos were on the same machine and under the same correction factors. The dyno operator didn't seem one bit surprised at the gains when he overlayed the before and after graphs with the UDP. He said he usually saw UDPs gain more mid to high range power on Mustangs and he figured my car would be no different.
Dave
Dave im not tryin to say I dont belive in the UDP. I for 1 am gonna get a UDP in my next car with is gonna be a 2K3 6spd in the coming months. Im gonna do a basline dyno after 7000miles just to be sure its 100% broken in. After that ill do a few Be4 and afters with the ghetto air box mod (like urs
) and the frankencar just to prove it works better again. Ill also do a be4 and after of a Udp which im sure isnt gonna gain anymore then 2-3whp but im sure will give more torque then that. I mean comon it weights like 60-70% less then the stock peice. I am a beliver in the UDP and will prove it with a dyno when that time comes. Im just stating that there is a car out there trapping 102 with basically 1 bolt on and a K&N panel filter. If he had slicks im 100% sure that car would yeild the best ET of any N/A max, with the 60ft times he was gettin that night of 2.5-6 thats alot of spin. He can get mid 13's with slicks im sure of it, Im just amazed that all he has is a Ghetto Box and a catback.

Please consider that tracks make a huge difference in the way a car performs too. Someone who's running mid 14s@102+mph with horrendous 2.5 60 foots in a 6 speed with intake and exhaust is pretty much an anomaly. Same goes for 96Sleeper in his 14.4@98mph NA auto 4th gen. Some tracks are definately better than others. Prime example, when I had my 94 Z28 with a few mods, the best I could do at my track in Kansas City (1100') was a 13.7@101mph with a 2.1 60' in cold 40 degree weather. I went down to Houston (sea level) for an F-Body event and I ran at HRP. With no other mods or changes, I ended up pulling a 13.4@104mph with a 2.1 60' in WARM 70 DEGREE WEATHER. See what I'm saying? .3 quicker and 3mph faster in warmer weather with the same car and a different track.
When I went to the track last weekend in Kansas City, VQMan was ran a best of a 14.8@95mph in his stock 2k2 6 speed. His 60 foots were deep 2.4s (much like this guy you keep talking about) and I don't see how it's possible for him to run 7mph+ faster and .3-.4 quicker with two mods that might add 8-9fwhp on a good day. Charles in his bonestock G35 auto was ran a best of 14.7@95mph with a 2.3 60'.
Like I've said before, if people start assuming their 2k2 6 speeds are going to be running 13s@102mph wiht basically nothing done or if they assume thier auto 4th gen with all the bolt-ons is going to run 14.4@98mph, we're going to have ton of disappointed people in this Org.
As for the UDP, you'll like it. It will do more for you than you think. The Ghetto/hacked airbox? It's a sweet, simple, and cheap mod that just plain works.

BUT... in Vegas, it's 2010' elevation and the track has been proven to incline 12' over the period of the 1/4 mile. I dunno if most tracks do that or how much it will slow me down. But I am exactly 2 tenths slower than my personal estimate.
My best time in vegas is a 15.547, followed by a 15.548, 15.551. My car is very consistant. I am going to win the gold when I go race my car in this bracket race event this weekend after next at the Vegas drag strip.
My best trap speed since I've been here is 15.55 @ 89.45mph. So, I am 1 mph slower in Fontana and 3mph slower in Vegas. I think the Vegas track is higher altitude PLUS just a slower track.
Anyway... very good time Dave.
Oh yeah... Matt, if I really need a fast track, there's a track in Sacramento, CA that is sea level... but it's a 9 hour drive from Vegas. That is my only option. I believe I am doing about 14.70's in the 1/4 right now sicne I have done a few more stuff to my car.

It seems like for every 1000' you gain about .2 and loose 1 mph. Sacramento is a quick track, but is it worth it to run at a track 9 hours away? I couldn't justify it. Neal's talked about me coming up to Illinois to race, but that would be a 7-8 hour drive for me. Sorry, but a 2 hour drive about all I'll do unless it's some huge Maxima meet is going on or something. I've just learned to accept the fact that I'll be slower and I'll never post terribly impressive numbers. I do constantly dream about racing on a nice sea leve track though
Goodluck.

The damn thing looks like it's on a 10% DOWNHILL grade!!!!! Jeez, talk about an advantage. Some tracks are perfectly graded while others seem to go up or down hill. I know the track they use for Autoweek is really downhill (somewhere in the Northeast I believe).

When I was droping off money and picking up tickets for that particular Maxus, I saw Autoweek there and they were runing in the opposite direction; but I don't think it was the 1/4 mile run, I think it was the brake test.

I WAS AT THE TRACK WITH HIM THIS DAY. He ran right before I got there so I didnt get a chance to see 14.4s but he did hit 14.6 versus me. I think that the conditions were better earlier in the day when he ran cause i dont think he hit 14.4 again after I got there. I totally believe that his car did it tho...the thing is a beast...pulled on me the entire race(when I had y pipe, intake, and ACT running pretty consistent 14.7s). Makes me think that if I had gotten to the track alittle earlier my best would be around 14.4-14.50 right now before my newer mods.
