QUICKLY! somebody help...going to a drag strip in less than 3 hours...!!!!

Ok i'm going to a drag strip in like 3 hours with my stock (except intake) 99 Maxima SE-L 5-spd so pls tell me a few things. I have read all about it but in the end:

1) What tire pressure should I run at? I have stock rims and tire size

2) Someone told me they have something like 100 octane gas at the drag strip and a lot of ppl put that in their car. SHould I? My manual says I can put anything from 91 to 100...so what do u thinK? and how much of it should I put? WIll it ruin my engine just this once?

3) Is it possible for me to do under 15 seconds?

THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!

25ish? Play with it and find out what works the best for you.

No. If you're not boosted or using nitrous, its a pointless waste of money.

3) Is it possible for me to do under 15 seconds?
Yes.

Good luck, and have fun.

Go there with as little fuel possible(less weight).

Remove your spare and any other item that you can that will add wieght to your ride.

You can run about 30psi on your tires that should give better grip.
They have race fuel at the track, the one I go to here in AZ has 108 octane and its suppossed to give you a bit of an edge.

If you want to shoot below 15 sec. then try some weight reduction. Loose the spare, take the front passenger and rea seats out, and any other unecessary weght out and completely take out your intake at the MAF. The best I've seen a bone stock 4th gen do was a 15.3 and all he did was take out his spare everything else was there. Good luck

make front tire pres 25-30psi, rear 33-40psi,
shift 1-2 @redline
2-3@6200-6300prm
3-4@60000

use 93 or 94 octane and have about 1/8-1/4 worth of fuel.

If you want, take out spare, jack, tools, rear seats, carpets. And dont try to get a good r/t the first time, go when you feel ready. I launch of idle, try launching off 1500prm or more with cllutch feathering.

hey have fun ! its your first time ( im guessing ) try to enjoy yourself and absorb it all . I have only been 3 times now and experience comes with time. so i say have fun, but in the process sure .. dump your floormats there about 10 pounds, toss the spare out the window its like 26-28 pounds, the bottom back seat pops out easy it may be 8-10 pounds, leave all that trunk carpet at home its another 6 counting the cardboard and dont forget to toss the jack and tools. (hope you dont have a flat !) o and your headrest pop those out too ! thats another 3 pounds.

run 93-94 whatever you gota round there, and im going with the other guys, gas is already high enough stick with 93-94 octane. Try to figure out how to get there with 1/4 of a tank or less..

get there a bit early and pop that hood open and let the heat out of the engine bay.

DONT drive through the water and dont bother with a big burnout with street tires ... turn your a/c-heater on before you get to the track and put it on economy and crank it up to 80 and then cut it off.

but again i cant stress fun enough.. my first few times at the track were less than competitive. i drove all out in the water, did some lunatic burnout, took off on green spinning and burning the tires, shift into second and same thing.. i crossed the line and got a time I have never mentioned on the org ... lol ! and this is coming from someone who believed they were a street legend..

but who knows..you could be a track legend .. and dont forget to report your times .. o and when your staged count in your head as the lights go ....1...2....3 HIT THE GAS MAN !

have fun ! and where you racing ?

DO NOT RUN RACE GAS!

And ditto Sonic and Caesar above. Just try to have fun and learn your way around the first time out. It would be pure dumb luck if you ran a really really good time your first time out. But who knows. Maybe you'll be the first
