inspection

I am going to race for the first time this weekend, and I am wondering what do the people at the track look at when doing an inspection. i.e.....leaking fluids, no loose parts?....let me know

I go to 3 different tracks and im not sure they really inspect anything on a maxima. at least in my experience.

you sign your name on a sheet at 2 places and one other place I go they ask for a bit more info but thats it.

I do see other cars getting inspected under the hood and such but their not street cars ... So beats me ?

The inspectors love a clean, well laid out engine bay. Now thats not so much of a big deal with the maxima, but when you take a car like the mustang to the track, they really enjoy a simple, clean layout with everything upto the tracks rule's and regulations. For example the car never came with a coolant overflow tank, but you must have one if your on the track. Although most of them will allow you to use a coke can to act as one, it sure saves them time if you buy one from summit and have it installed correctly.

Keep the under side of the car clean aswell. Not only is it easier when it comes time to work on it, but it makes it easier to detect leaks and such. Besides with car's like the Mustang, the inspectors tend to BS with you alittle more than with Maxima's, which is always fun, hell I've gotten some great advice with Jetting my carb from some of the inspectors.

Oh yeah. Make sure your tires dont have any rocks or any other foriegn objects in them.
