How to read my times

Does the r/t count as part of my 1/4 mile time? So if I run a 14.0 with a .9 r/t I am capable of running a 13.1?

No

Reaction time is not counted as any part of the 1/4 mile time.

The timer starts when you break the beam regardless of whether you red light or have a 10 sec r/t.

thanks jime, I was wondering how you ran your car at 14.5 w/o spray. The best run I could pull was a reallly bad 16.00 and a 14.3 w/ a 60 shot. For a better look here are the times

reaction time comes in to play when you are racing another car. say you and a friend are running 14.9 all day.

And then later on you guys race. Since you drive a maxima, you spank him off the line with a better reaction time, and win the race. Why ?

car 1:
r/t .312 ---- e/t 14.90

car 2: (you)
r/t .112----e/t 14.90

car 2 would go thru the traps .2 seconds before car 1 .

car 2 wins, solely because of cutting a better light.
