I'm shooting for 8.6 on a 35, and then I'll start upping the jets

yeah Hal there were three of us out here: Fezzik(Dave)in a 2k2 6spd with udp/gab, Maxhopper97(Scott)in a 97 auto with y/i/udp

PM me with your number and we'll have to meet up at the valley, clay city, or beech bend sometime.

BTW: There was a Yellow EVO out there putting down some very unimpressive times: best was 8.9 @ 79mph

A 8.9@79mph is good for about 13.8@102mph. That's not terrible for an EVO if it's stock and not launched very hard.

You 8.79@82mph looks good for about 13.6-13.7@103-104mph. Work on the 60' and you'll be really smoking.

How did the BFG DRs feel? Did you do a good long burn out like they need? I'm still debating between DRs and slicks.

Dave, I've been thinking about the pros/cons of DRs and slicks and I can't come to a clear conclusion. As long as my car doesn't get totaled, I will be getting some sort of FI/nitrous within a year or so. More than likely it will be around a 65 shot with the JWT chip. From other threads I've posted, it looks like a 65 shot, 5 speed and slicks is a recipe for disaster. That made me start to think about DR's to lessen the stress on the driveline. I don't know that much about DRs, but my guess is that they should be able to hold most of the power a 65 shot can put out. Everybody knows there's no point in getting FI/nitrous if you can't put it to the ground. Do you think a good set of DRs would be overwhelmed by a 65 shot or so? Would it be any less stressful on the drivetrain than slicks? Worth the tradeoff?

Also, in another effort to reduce stress during shifts, would it make sense to have the nitrous cut off about 500 rpm before redline? This way you're basically shifting like you're NA.....right? Can you even set up a nitrous kit to do that? I'm basically looking for any idea I can get to reduce stress on the car.

Nice run Cullen! You're 1 second quicker and 10 mph faster than my best 1/8 mile time.

yeah, it wasn't terrible, it's just that I was not at all impressed. Then again, I'm sure it excels in other areas where my car is lacking.

Yeah, I'm expecting to be in the 2.0x range next weekend.

The DRs feel GREAT!!! They were begging for more I was pushing them a little more each time and accepted the power very well. The thing I was impressed with was the consistency of the 60' times: 2.115 2.116 2.125 2.165 for me that is VERY consistent.

I believe they were well worth it for a guy like me who does not feel like replacing his tranny TOO soon, but it is unavoidable.
