Good job guys, hope to get track times with those skinny's...

Hey aaron, you been to moroso since last time we went? I was there last weekend and ran a better 15.3@91mph with a 2.4' 60 on my 22lb infiniti 17's.. lmao..

Think next time I go I'll put the 16lb sawblades on and give it a go.

Jime/Aaron/ and Ceasar are the 1/4 gods.. lol

No I haven't been back to the track since. I am hoping I can get my ECU tuned like I want before the weather starts warming up. I only have a few weeks left before it really starts to warm up. 15.3 is GOOD for that track. 2.4 still blows though. Get better tires or better driving skills.

LOL I think its the rims holding my 60ft back, there so heavy it takes this cow a while to pick up speed out of the hole.

I had 235/50/17's on and couldnt break 2.5'
Put on these 235/45 and im ALMOST At 2.3', I did a 2.41'

3rd time at teh track.. Give me time, give me time :X lol

Yeah, heavy big rims do hurt performance all over the track. If you aren't burning them down off the line, then yes, your rims are heavy/big or you have a maintenance issue.

I was able to do 2.30s in my no low end torque VE auto when I had my stock tires and no torque converter. In fact, I did a 2.29 a long time ago when I was running 14.8 @ 92mph. I know the VQ Auto is capable of better 60s than my car (mod for mod). I know it's your 3rd track visit, that's why your time is so impressive. You got a quick Max!

Some guy pulled a 2.10 in a completely stock 4th gen manual tranny. He did not have stock tires, though. I think he had Toyo T1-S on his stock 16".

I could only manage a 2.264 stock.

Heavy rims wont really affect your 60' time. 60' time is more about traction with a 5spd car. I had pretty heavy 17s back in the day and I could pull the same 60' times as my light 17s.

Really, im HOPING to get 2.3's at least next time I goto teh track..
Everytime I goto the track I lower it a little bit...

I just wish the track wasn't 100 something miles away so I could practice on regular test and tunes. :\

Aaron is lucky :P

Im an STOCKAUTO so I cant really expect much.. lol

To aaron: Notice I said stock auto, your auto is noooot stock.. lol

Heavy rims will effect your entire track time. It really depends on how much power you're able to put to the ground. He claims he isn't spinning, but I've seen several cases where the person is spinning and they just can't feel or hear the traction loss. I know when I start first going to the track, I was having so much fun and my heart was racing so much that I can't rememer what was happening. I just hit the pedal on the right when I saw the 3rd yellow. hehe But, now I am able to remain calm and focused since I've had a LOT of practice.

Now lets see if I can get this Summit RPM switch working.

What rpm do you recommend launching the auto? I know its gonna be different for our cars but just to compare.

Recently, I've been launching off of idle b/c from what the torque converter guy told me, that is the best way to put the most power to the wheels on the launch.... that is to shock the tranny as much as you can. Launch from idle. But I have drag radials, so that doesn't compare with you. When I had street tires, I had such horrible low end torque, that I brake stalled it up as much as I could and launched it and it would chirp two times. That is when I had 2.29 to 2.35 60 foots. Now, if I do that, I will burn it down! Muwahaha! TC rocks!

For you, I recommend, go 3/4 throttle as fast as you can, then after a second or so during the launch, when you think you have traction, go 100% throttle. It's different for every car, every day, every track, but you just gotta get a feel for it... or get better tires and don't think. That's what I do. I love launching as hard as I can without a single chirp of the tires.
