Drag Strip Results 5/25

I got in 5 frustrating runs total before I called it quits at 9:30.
Best Reaction Time: +0.085s (best 60' run)
Best 60': 2.313s (missed the 2nd shift and ended up with a 15.380@92.02)
Highest Trap Speed: 95.52mph (15.029ET 2.591 60')
Lowest ET: 14.743s (@95.00 w 2.350 60')

Thoughts: Disappointing... I was looking for 14.5-14.6 but I performed horribly. I missed second twice (not enough force to enter 2nd.. it seems like its getting harder to shift to second) and either had excessive wheelspin or bogged on launch. I red lighted twice.
I think the traction issue came down to the fact that my front tires were at 36psi. I think I could have improved 60' significantly if I took them down to 25-28psi. Plus only on the last run did I spin the tires to clean them up. I should get lower times and higher traps if I actually race prepped my car. I went with all my normal junk in it... just went in and pulled into the lane. I could take out all my junk, floor mats, spare, jack, and other minor stuff and see some improvement. The 3 runs that I did not screw up the shift I trapped 95+ which should be good for a 14.6 with a 2.3. I think I need to get out on an open road and just figure out the sweet spot for the launch. Once I get all that down I should be hitting 14.5.

I will post the entire info on the slips tomorrow tomorrow.

Okay here is the info from my slips in all their glory:
Run1
Reaction: +0.187
60': 2.591
330': 6.641
1/8ET: 9.920
1/8mph: 75.03
1000': 12.663
1/4ET: 15.029
1/4MPH: 95.52
Excessive wheelspin (note high 60')

Run2
Reaction: +0.108
60': 2.373
330': 6.828
1/8ET: 10.332
1/8mph: 70.87
1000': 13.191
1/4ET: 15.616
1/4MPH: 92.02

Missed second (note high 1/8 time)

Run3
Reaction: -0.146
60': 2.350
330': 6.383
1/8ET: 9.6554
1/8mph: 74.74
1000': 12.386
1/4ET: 14.763
1/4MPH: 95.00

One hell of a redlight and either wheelspin or bog (cant remember)

Run4
Reaction: +0.085
60': 2.313
330': 6.627
1/8ET: 10.087
1/8mph: 70.87
1000': 12.953
1/4ET: 15.380
1/4MPH: 93.55

Bogged a bit but my best 60' of the night. Felt like it was gonna be a good run until I missed second again.

Run5
Reaction: -0.085
60': 2.390
330': 6.488
1/8ET: 9.782
1/8mph: 74.47
1000': 12.554
1/4ET: 14.932
1/4MPH: 95.13

Bogged real bad on this one. The run felt pretty solid after the bog but obviously the bog was significant enough to give me a crappy time anyway.

list the mods too, all I remember you having is the TS ECU. I'm surprised your not trappping higher with the 6 speed actually... I was gettin in the mid 95's in my auto. Give it another shot sometime soon tho, you'll improve. You definatly have a 14.4 in ya

Ah well in the way of mods I have:
OBX Catback
TS ECU
K&N GAB

All adds up to 223.0whp/237.2wtq SAE. The only thing I can say about not trapping any higher is that the temp was rather high about 78F and the huumidity was up there becuase it was supposed to rain all day and only did so for a breif but hard downpour in the morning. It also was sandwiched between big thunderstorms. It is also at 700ft above sea level. I could also suck at shifting.

Ya the hotter temps dont help, neither does humidity. With those dyno numbers you should definatly be good for 14.5's at least. Dont wanna turn into a dyno queen just kiddin. Nah, get to the track again, you proved the Max can do decent with the 14.7 you posted, with better launch, shifting (maybe) and weather that'lll drop down. Dont fret about numbers anyways, just get out to have a good time.

Update...

I just got a chance to scan soem of my timeslips. These are my best 1/4MPH and 1/4ET at dragway 42 on the 25th and my best 1/8MPH, 1/8ET, and best 60' at Magnolia Raceway on the 29th.

At Magnolia I took out all the trunk stuff (anything easily removeable except jack which I forgot about... whoops. Oh and found about a gallon of water that my spare was sitting in), floor mats, and aired the front tires down to 27psi (they felt like mush). Conditions were 58F, 75% humidity, and 29.84 on the barometer. The track is also at 900ft above sea level. Pulled my best 60' and got almost 2mph more on my 1/8MPH than at 42. Based on my numbers and the numbers I see here I should have run a mid/high 14.4 to a low 14.5 @ 97 or 98 in the quarter. I am satisfied with my runs there.
