Launching a lightened flywheel car?

Wen to the track last night and couldn't launch the car even once. Every time I bogged out, and ended up with a 2.4-2.5 60' time. Best run of the night was a 10.215@72mph.....that was with a 2.410 60' time.

So if anyone else has a lightened flywheel and knows exactly how to launch this thing, that would be great.

I have the Fidanza flywheel w/ACT stage 1.

light weight flywheel is not for drag racing- I went from a 14.1@98MPH in my Max to a 15.1@93MPH due to serious boggin off the line. I got 2 full runs in 5 hours of waiting. With that kinda 1/8 mile run, the 1/4 run will be around a mid 15 sec run.

For the record my brother took the G20 to the drag strip today and with 16psi of boost- dyno was done at 18psi he managed the following times.
60' 1/8 MPH 1/4 MPH
2.023 8.108 91.300 12.348 114.700 .

Time for some bigger cams, up the boost to 24psi on some C16 and see if she will run a mid 11 sec run and still pass emissions
BTW 1999 aint the best looking year Maxima- 94 SE was.

Hey nice job on the 10.2, i knew you'd do better. You must have ran that after we left.

I have problems being consistant with my findanza. I have been able to pull many 2.1x 60', even a 2.14 once. But I also see many 2.3's. Every time I have seen 2.1x 60' it's been with a low rpm launch, like 1700 rpm's or so.

I sense sarcasm Chase.... That was actually my first run. I also ran a 10.299.

dont get too far ahead of yourself cause your car beat me... Keep in mind i bogged the launce about 9 out of 10 times and my clutch has major shuddering issues every shift, which would explain the low trap speeds (were around 74 last time at the track.

I also ran 2 10.0s at Rock Falls in the eigth.

so yes......my car is still faster, i just have to relearn how to drive it.

Haha, i dont remember th 10.2, i seriously thought that you ran that after we left. Only reason why my car did better was A) It stayed in 2nd through all the runs (76mph is when it shifts into 3rd) B) Autos are easier to launch.

So dont worry Loren, more you learn, better you do. You're not to blame for the bad times, everyone else that drove your car did the same, it has to do with the clutch/flywheel obviously.
