went to the track
Well where I live all we have is 1/8 miles unless I feel like driving to Bristol.
It was my first time at the track and sometimes I was caught sleeping at the light. I ran about 6 runs can't remember now lol.
My best was a 10.504 @ 69.1 MPH. I have a HAI and Ypipe and I'm an automatic. I held my own I guess. I shifted manually, and I braked torqued it a few times. I know the car is capable of being faster I'm positive on that. It was hot and humid today. Probably around 85º I'd say.
What is a 10.5 in quarter mile times? Should my car be running faster than it is? Oh well, I had fun, maybe I'll go next weekend and try it out some more.

its difficult to say, guessing a very high 15 or low 16 1/4 mile. i would also say that you should be running faster... keep up the good work and hey, if you go to bristol bring us back some photos or videos !!

Well I truely think the car is capable of a 10.2, but not sure. I think launching my car is part of the problem, I'm not really sure what to do since I'm an auto, and I'm afraid if I brake torque it I'll screw up the car.
Early in the week I dumped about 2.5 gallons of 110 octane in it just to clean out the motor some. I filled it up yesterday before I went just above a 1/4 of a tank. And odd enough when I drove today the car felt stronger, I don't know. I don't think high elevation and humid weather is helping my times.
Here is my time slip for my best time.
Reaction: .284
60ft: 2.521
ET: 10.504
MPH: 69.166
My 60fts are terrible, well I think so I don't really know how fast my 60fts should be
But with more practice I'm sure I can get my time lower. My best 60ft was a 2.497. My worst 60ft was a 2.621. I only hit the 2.4 one time, the rest were either 2.5 or 2.6. My highest trap speed was 69.166 the lowest was 67.751.
Any tips on how to launch an auto, and is it alright to brake torque the car? Everybody else there seemed too do it, but I was a little nervous about doing that all the time. I have terrible Uniroyals on the car, but I have read tires don't matter too much really comes down to driver.
