woohoo!! best time ever!

well i went to the drags today, and i posted the best time i have ever run, which i guess isn't all that great still, but it's great for me! here's the numbers:

reaction: .147
60': 2.157
1/8: 9.578
1/8 MPH:71.959
E.T.: 14.978
MPH: 91.874

i was using my slicks for the first time, and let me tell you these things grip like nothing else! i was holding the rpm's at 5 thousand, and side stepping the clutch, and that thing would just tear out of the hole. i was hoping for a better 60' time, but i'll take my very first 14 second time with no complaints.

14.9 on slicks. Something isnt right. Check for KS code, slow shifting, might want to use higher revs for launching.

2.15 60' launching at 5k??? Either you are roasting clutch off the line or something is off with your car. Plenty of 4th gen 5 spds have pulled 2.1 60's on street tires launching at 2-3k. Only other thing I can think of is practice driving or the elevation of your track is 3000+

I have a feeling your clutch was slipping. What are your mods?

im fairly certain my clutch was not slipping. i was taking off like crazy!
i have no idea why my 60' was so low. maybe i'm just not very fast at doing stuff.

well the elevation is definately not to your advantage as well as the outside temps. I'd say wait for a cooler day and possibly a closer to sea level track and try again.

Hey, way to go man! 14 seconds is definitely quick, no doubt about it. The heat is really bad man, but the slicks are a plus. Get back out there on a cool day and best your time!

I would start launching at lower RPM to make sure your clutch is up to the task rather than jumping in at 5k right away.
