1/8mi Bracket Racing 7/18

So I get down to magnolia raceway and its real nice and hot. I think it was 83F hum 67% 29.90 pressure when I got in the last time trial run (below).

rxn .730
60' 2.298
1/8mph 75.38
1/8et 9.535

not pretty as you can see. Bogged slightly and the heat didnt help. I figured I would dial in at 9.49 with the current conditions. Unfortunately after they ran the dash for cash it started to rain so we sat for 2 hours while it passed and the track dried up. They started drying the track with blowers and decide to let the street class run down the track to dry it up a bit. Personally I am not a bit worried at the prospect of the track being a bit damp. The tires I have get excellent traction in wet conditions (Falken Ziex 512 235/45/17). I am sure i could probably get nearly the same 60' in the rain as I could dry. So my friend in his lightning (dynoed: 405whp/500tq)lines up first and I line up behind him. He gets a terrible luanch and smokes the hell out of the tires (I have no idea what he ran that time). Ill just finish his results real quick... he buys back in and lowers his dial in. The next run he got he lit the tires up again only this time he stayed on it for the hell of it and got sideways with smoke rolling off his tires most of the way down the track. He ended up running a 9.9 on that one lol. Anyway back to my run. It had cooled down a bit since the rain (low 70s or so) but I figured the humidity had gone up so I dialed in at 9.45. I light the tires up before staging a little longer than normal and though it was not more than 2 seconds smoke started coming off the tires. I staged up like normal and luanched like I normally do but I must have layed into it more than normal. It was the absolute hardest luanch I have done (first time my nech snapped back and on a damp track no less) and I wheel hopped like a ****. I am sure it would have been my best 60' and possilby my best 1/8 ever but it had wheel hopped so hard that my windsheild wipers came on and dash lights started coming on. It scared the **** out of me and I over compensated in lifting off the gas. I ended up with:

rxn .667
60' 2.300
1/8mph 76.66
1/8Et 9.378

I am just trying to imagine what the times would be like if I hadnt let off the gas. Oh well I would rather not bust up my car. As you can see I lost becuase I broke out by 0.072. I gotta get me some engine mounts to get rid of the wheel hop. Anyway my opponent ran:

rxn 0.747
60' 2.111
1/8mph 73.28
1/8ET 9.370

I wont be bracket racing anymore until I get my times more consistant.
