New PB! 14.580@96.26 N/A '95 5spd

Great Lakes Dragaway

1995 Nissan Maxima SE 5spd
Mods:
Short Ram Intake w/ K&N Filter
Y-Pipe
CM Test Pipe
Greddy Muffler
Exedy Racing Clutch
STS

Car had a 1/4 tank of gas, removed rear seat, Stock ECU and Intake Manifold. Ran with stock 15" sawblades and blizzak winter tires.

I just hit a new PB tonight:

R/T .430
60' 2.215
330 6.170
1/8 9.413
MPH 75.76
1000 -----(Machine wasnt printing 1000 all night)
1/4 14.580
MPH 96.26

I also had a couple 14.6's and 14.7's all 96 MPH traps . My old best time was 14.906@93.xx. Bad traction again, Do you think its possible to get a low 14.0-14.1 with G-Force Drag Radials?

Thanks,

-Nick

Yes there was a really good mustang kill as a matter of fact. I beat two modified 5.0 Mustangs easily and then my favorite a '04 Mustang GT.

I pulled up to him in the staging lanes and he looked over at my Maxima and started to laugh at it. Well then we lined up and I took him off the line and at the end of the quarter I was easily 5 car lengths ahead. We then pulled back to the staging lanes where I found him with his hood open and I pulled up next to him again, and he immediately came over to my car and said,"Hey man, sorry about before, I must admit you smoked me!" and shook my hand. I was really surprised and right before we raced we both had are windows down and he yelled,"Hey can you do me a favor?" and I said, "Whats that?". "Don't Smoke as badly as you did last time, it was embarrassing!".
I ended up beating him both times.

He ran a 14.9 both times and I ran a 14.5 and 14.6. All in all it was a very fun night, I hope that some drag radials(G-force) will really help me 60' times and lower my overall 1/4 mile times some more.

nice job. you'd probably be lookin at 14.3s, maybe 14.2s with DRs. you will need more traction to get down to 14.0-14.1 meaning slicks...

nice time. definitely put a drag radial on there or something. as soon as I get a clutch i'll be looking to purchase some drag radials. or maybe some slicks.

Any reason why you don't wanna go slicks with the OEM clutch? I heard ACT ****s your tranny over.

Too much stress on a stock clutch...It will burn it up.

I've been running a stock clutch and slicks doing clutch drops at 5500rpm for 2 years now and I've got probably 120 passes on the slicks pulling 1.8s and low 1.9s, not to mention the other 175 street tire passes, so i would tend to disagree...

Ha like the stang story. Its usually surprising how nice the fellow draggers are at the strip. I usually end up talkin to the guys I race, and havent had any give me a bad attitude yet. Usually they're just real shocked that a Maxima, automatic at that! can beat their cars (in regards to stangs, camaros, WRX's, you know the sort). Lot of cool people that go to the strip I find tho.

it does hold me back but its the difference between being limited to 5500rpm clutch drops whereas with an upgraded clutch i would be able to drop it right off redline. M&H 26x6 size
