Damn clutch is fried!

My clutch is finally starting to give out. I bought the car at 73k miles and since then I have been beating the snot out of the car, esp the clutch. 47 1/4 mile passes and 90% of the time very aggressive driving on the street sums it up. Now I have 115k miles. I'm surprised it lasted this long.

It still drives but barely. I think it's fuucking up the flywheel so I'll have to get that resurfaced when I get the new clutch installed. I'm just going with an oem clutch because I don't want to put any additional stress on my tranny, which already has bad internal bearings. Plus, I'm not making that much power to go with a heavy duty clutch.

I can't wait till the clutch goes in. My brother can do it in a few hours. Then after I break it in, I'll be going to the track trying to beat 14.7. hehe

If you have bad bearings you should get the trans rebuilt when you do the clutch, you'll have to rebuild it in 3 months anyways if you don't. Save yourself the time and the money. Or perhaps even better yet, just see if you can find a used trans for like $400.

$400? from where? I would love to put a new tranny in but I don't have any $$ right now. I'm pretty broke as of right now. Tuition wiped me out.

The bearings have been making noises for the past 15,000 miles. Didn't really get worse over time but the noises never go away esp in 1st gear. Keep my fingers crossed.

how many miles are on your car? It's pretty obvious if your tranny is going. You'll hear whining from the gears. It usually starts happening after 100k miles but only if you beat on the car alot. If you drive normal and don't bang gears too much, I think you'll be aright. Don't worry bout it.
