Tips for launching with a fidanza?
Hitting the track tonight with some of the NE guys tonight for the first time in a long time. The last time I went, all I had was an intake and ran a 15.2 on a slipping clutch.
For those of you with 18s and a flywheel, how do you launch? Anyone get some decent 60' on their Sumitomo HTR+? What are your shocks set at for the launch?
Yes, I'm full of questions.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I cannot comment on your supension set up but I do have a fidanza flywheel. When I went to the track, the best launch I have been able to figure out is from Idle...I know that is not the most ideal but I have not gotten all my bugs worked out yet. The best way to find out is just try different things...if all else fails then go from idle...I cut a 2.2x from idle on DRs. And before I was boosted (1/8 mile)I also launched from idle with the fidanza on 18s and cut a 2.2x.
I don't know if it's because of my Findanza, but the best 60' I ever got were launching off idle (2.14) It may be because of the tendency to bog with a lightend flywhell, but who knows for sure.
I have a Fidanza and noticed that best launches are from slipping the clutch at 4500 where the car does not actuaklly move yet and then let out to about 3200rpm where you got it moving and off the clutch. You now blew out of hole basically at a really good rpm. I have practiced this on street but not been at track yet. For me I get two chirps out of my tires and I fly. This could be since I am running a six puck unsprung clutch. I would not recommend on stock clutch. I also dont do this much since I would like to keep some clutch life.

The only difference in my setup is that I've got the stock flywheel, stock 112K clutch, and DRs. My clutch seems to be completely fine with absolutely no slipping on shifts. I think the trick is not to slip the clutch too much and it will last a good while.
On my 3rd gen w/ UDP and Fidanza (and ACT street disc), I've found it best to slip the clutch around 3-4000 (VQ may want to go a little lower with the extra torque).. as soon as the car is rolling a bit, dump the clutch the rest of the way and hope you don't rip the tires off the ground. most of the time it works, sometimes not.
I was getting semi-consistent 2.1x last weekend doing that on my autoX tires... (Toyo RA-1s... stiff-sidewall DOT legal race rubber)
