Whichever gets the best driver, but with 89 octane you're screwing the knock sensor over so the advantage would go to the '99. Once again, however, the better driver might even this out.

um 99 sel with good gas and intake, vs stock with bad gas?

yea both automatic too fairly obvious. unless im missing something bout the 99 sel's weight or something.

Also,if one of you manually shifts you can get into higher rpms which may give an advantage..

Yeah...'99 would be about 1-2 tenths quicker.

This wouldn't be a driver's race unless one of you didn't know how to launch an auto.

Autos are easy to launch compared to 5-speeds. But 5-speed is so much more fun.

i can't say who would win. depends on the condition of the car i'd guess. its gonna be about the same, whoever takes off first will probly win by like 2 feet or somethin. seems like a retorical question "what will win, maxima or maxima?"

its definately a drivers race...before i found out that 89 octane was bad i raced a 97 se in my 95 gle he had more mods and i beat him everytime...plus on the launch he was neutral dropping it and letting it shift automatically, while i was break torquing and manually shifting
