Other notes: 2900 rpm stall torque converter, 410lbs of weight reduction, and lots of power modifications. Tire pressure was set at 17psi.
Launched off idle; 750rpm. I tried stalling it up anywhere between 1000 and 2900 and I burned the drag radials down and only made my 60 foot worse. First time I tried to stall it to 2900, I spun the tires and got a 2.35 60 foot. Once I get slicks, my 60 foot will go down some more since I will be able to stall it up to close to 3000.

The only major stuff I've done that really contributed to my 60 foot is insane weight reduction, high stall torque converter, and drag radials. The rest of my mods just help the motor breath. Once I get my tranny built with better gearing (4.08), slicks, and many other goodies, I will make another all motor run and I bet I can get a 1.9 60' all motor. If not, it will be close.

Anybody who is serious has a light, plastic, uncomfortable racing bucket. You said your seat is comfortable? But, I got the same seat and how it's shaped where the lumber support is is VERY painful. I am pretty skinny, so I need all the padding I can get. I'm glad you recommended that padded vinyl convering b/c without it, it's not possible to drive for more than 5 minutes. I need to go out and buy a nice thick piece of foam to put underneath the covering I have.But, weight reduction seems to be the absolute best way to better your 60 foot. That is, after you've already solved all traction problems. When I reduce weight, I see the biggest change in the 60 foot. Since my last track visit, I reduced my weight by about 170 lbs. My 60' went from 2.17 without any chirping of the tires to 2.08 with traction problems on the launch.
You need one of these Aaron. Just the back part. I found a couple laying around and put one behind the seat cover. Its more comfortable than the stock seats now. They are made by Obus Forme.
I drive 2 hrs each way to the track and its just like sitting in an easy chair. Ran 4 13.6's yesterday but not good traction, it was only 40 deg and very windy. Got 4 ru ns in and 10 mins before eliminations it started raining so we got a rain check. Running in IHRA Mod class 0-14.99 so up against some pretty stuff competition, all V8 guys so I have to have my R/T down, I did a couple below .050 the other two under .1 so not too bad for the first day. Still playing with Starting Line, think it helps.

I think that does it for me.
Not that consistent, it's just that I go to the track alot (or used to) and that's about the best I can muster. As you can see, it doesn't really matter what tire you run on as long as they are street tires imho. Usually at the track I have a pretty bad 60' first, usually a high 2.2 or low 2.3, then i get down into the low 2.2s and then a couple 2.1s. I'd say on an average day at the track, if I make 8 runs, I run maybe two 2.28s or so, then about four 2.22ish, then a couple in the 2.1s. Just takes some getting used to what the track and your tires are doing, etc.





That has to plant your @ss firmly in the seat...
